BEACH MOUNTAIN:

Playing the music of Matthew Gallagher (Wille & The Bandits, Moon & The Beams, etc) this lineup features Dave Chambers (Formula 1, The Common Cold, uhr, Cornershop) on drums and Liam Ogburn (of Working Men's Club fame) on bass, with guests Dave Barker (Pike, Deadwood Dog) on organ and Robin Hill (The Hill Billy Gang, 8-Bitch) on special effects.

With a natural ear for music and a unique ability to connect with audiences around the world, Matthew Gallagher is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, session musician, engineer and producer. His extensive experience in live performance has seen him both playing and opening for many respected and critically acclaimed artists.

THE AMBER LIST:

Enter the world of post Brexit urban folk indie blues as brought to you from the melting pot of North west England. Born of the deep North West mining village of Penwortham on't Ribble, The Amber List take a lifetime of trials and tribulations and turn them into folk-pop songs.

With a sound that many have likened to James, The Smiths, Echo and the Bunnymen and The LAs their Northwest roots evidently shine through. There is a real depth to their songs and their strong social commentary is complimented by powerful melodies, harmonies and driving guitars. The Amber List create beautifully textured soundscapes that display their talent as songwriters at the height of their craft. They make serious music for discerning listeners.

BINGO BAY:

Bingo Bay are an alt/rock/pop band from Preston, formed in 2005 by singer/songwriter Kevin Cross. Catchy, melodic songs fused with elements of pop/punk/garage and funk with the odd ballad. 'We follow our own pathway regardless of fads and fashions.'

MILLICENT:

Recent winner at the North West Music Awards, MILLICENT is a Ferret veteran. MILLICENT, who studies Songwriting at BIMM Manchester, is a dream-pop vocalist whose alternative style has attracted the attention of BBC Introducing: Manchester and The Voice UK. With mental health being a subject close to her heart, MILLICENT has acted to help break the stigma around mental health.

ONE SIDED HORSE:

“…I’m loving One Sided Horse, very Tom Waits, Asylum Years era” – Gideon Coe BBC 6Music.

In 2013, Mark Whiteside, who up to this point had worked with numerous singer songwriters and been used as a session drummer on a variety of albums, decided that he wanted to stand, or sit, at the front of the stage rather than the back. Following this decision, it was just a matter of buying an acoustic guitar and to start the process of learning painful chords to sing dark love songs to.

“… think The National, Tindersticks, even Richard Hawley, a momentous glory of stings that pull at your heartstrings…” 8/10 review, Louder Than War.

DOAD:

An alt-folk musical project fronted by George Harris, recently seen supporting Wille & The Bandits at The Ferret.

#SAVETHEFERRET:

Earlier this year, The Ferret received a bombshell email. The owners of the building had put it up for sale, potentially letting the place fall into the hands of a developer and putting The Ferret at serious risk of closure.

It's absolutely vital that this grassroots music venue is saved, for the people of Preston & beyond.

We've already secured £500k via our friends at the Music Venue Trust! We now need to raise the final £150k to buy the venue & continue hosting live music for years to come.

We’re asking for your donations, of any amount, to help us reach that target.

It’s a big ask, but we can do this with your help.

Read more & donate on The Ferret website.
