OBJECTIONS
Leeds-based post-punk trio Objections are a melody-riddled, bass-heavy, rhythmically spacious, killer group consisting of Joe O’Sullivan (guitar), Neil Turpin (drums) and Claire Adams (vocals/ bass). Their former bands include the likes of Bilge Pump. Beards & Nape Neck. Their debut album - Optimistic Sizing" released on Wrong Speed Records in April 2024 - is "a smart, noisy and cerebral album and a thoroughly thrilling debut. Suffice to say, if you like your post-punk abstract, arty and awesome then you’re in for quite the ride".
DEAD THINGS
Dead Things are a three piece powerhouse embracing the grit of garage rock, while flaunting fractured riffs and infectious melodies. Obsessed with tales of death in their hometown, they yell their findings against a scuzzy fuzz-imbued racket - it's catchy, infectious post-punk at its best. This show will act as a vinyl release for their single "Terry Clark" released via Crankedankles Records.
FILTHY DIRTY
"The glammed up weirdo FilthDirty (from Evil Blizzard) gets a bit bored, finds some unreleased Blizz tracks that didn’t quite work at the time, fucks around with them a bit, dusts off his bass / electric drum kit and finds his way around some mental abrasive sound that blasts it way well over eleven."
BRITISH BIRDS
British Birds are a musical collaboration with a DIY ethic and nostalgic charm; culminating in catchy hooks, lullaby-like melody and sobering melancholy. Ex-members of Cactus Knife, Mums and Big Pixie bring timeless psych-rock with hints of Neutral Milk Hotel, The Vaselines and Ty Segall.
Plus we will have DAVE CHAMBERS spinning tunes til late!
