Acid Reign
Thrash Legends Acid Reign are coming back to The Ferret Preston!
Acid Reign
Saturday 20th June 2026
The Ferret, Preston
Doors 7PM
Tickets: http://skiddle.com/e/41998898
Born out of the steel-and-sarcasm heartland of Harrogate, Yorkshire, Acid Reign have spent four decades proving that British thrash metal has a pulse, and a wicked sense of humour.
Formed in 1985 by vocalist Howard "H" Smith, drummer Mark Ramsey Wharton, bassist Ian Gangwer, and guitarist Gary "Gaz" Jennings, the band quickly carved out a reputation as one of the most exciting and irreverent acts on the UK metal circuit. Blending high-speed riffs with satirical, socially conscious lyrics, they brought something distinctly British to a genre largely dominated by American acts.
The band went on to share stages with thrash royalty including Nuclear Assault, Exodus, Flotsam and Jetsam, Dark Angel, and Candlemass, building a devoted fanbase through relentless touring across the UK and Europe.
Their debut album The Fear arrived in 1989, followed by Obnoxious in 1990. Though the shifting tides of the early '90s metal landscape eventually took their toll, Acid Reign played their final show at the iconic London Marquee Club in 1991, bowing out with their heads held high and their mosh pits still raging.
The story didn't end there. In 2015, frontman H rebooted the band with an all-new lineup, declaring it not a reformation but a reboot, with everyone in the band having Acid Reign in their DNA. Since their return, the band has toured extensively across the UK and Europe, earning a fearsome live reputation built on high energy, mass stage diving, and violent pits. Their comeback included a headline slot at Bloodstock that has since become the stuff of legend.
In September 2019, they released The Age of Entitlement via Dissonance Productions, their first full-length album in 29 years, to widespread critical and fan acclaim. Produced by Jayce Lewis, it proved Acid Reign hadn't mellowed with age; if anything, they'd gotten angrier, sharper, and more vital.
Now, with their fourth studio album Daze of the Week set for release on the 15th May 2026, the reign is far from over.

The Lathums are an English indie rock band from Wigan, Greater Manchester, formed in 2018 when vocalist/guitarist Alex Moore, guitarist Scott Concepcion and drummer Ryan Durrans were placed together at The Music Project college; bassist Matty Murphy joined later.
Their sound blends jangly guitar pop with energetic rock and thoughtful lyrics. Signed to Island Records soon after forming, their debut album How Beautiful Life Can Be (2021) went straight to No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, followed by From Nothing To A Little Bit More (2023) and Matter Does Not Define (2025).
The band have built a devoted fanbase with sold‑out tours and radio hits, earning them a strong place in the UK indie scene.

"The Ferret is 20!" is a series of special events celebrating 20 years of The Ferret in Preston. Between May & August, we present a series of shows featuring some of our favourite artists from around the world - as well as grassroots artists from the across the North West & around the UK.

>>> COWBOY HUNTERS:
69 years have passed since the cowboys attacked. When the world needed them most, Cowboy Hunters were in the pub. This is a story of Farty Rock redemption. Tie your shoes.
>>> WAX HEAD:
A visceral gang of youth rolling around in a sweaty pit of garage-psych riffage. Debut album ‘GNAT’ out now via Sour Grapes Records.
>>> WHINGE:
Your genial hosts. Whingefest veterans since 2k19.
“Whinge. Great name for a crazy band of misfits who their label boss proclaims as ‘fuckin crackers’. Then again he would know being in a band of weirdos himself. Which is why they’ve clicked, along with label mates Michael, Yaang and the up and coming fury of dead things. You can stick your normal up your arse and come along for the ride with this bizarre collection of ‘More DIY than B&Q’ tunes you can pop a knee to.” - Louder Than War
>>> dull.
Lancaster’s post-punk and experimental noise duo, laying down motorik drums and fuzzy bass grooves. Their approach leans into tension and juxtaposition rather than tidy hooks. Fiery urgency wrapped in deliberate simplicity.
>>> WET MAN:
Dive into the world of Wet Man, a solo electroclash sensation whose sound is an electrifying homage to the rebellious spirits of Iggy Pop, The Cramps, Suicide, Lou Reed, and Cabaret Voltaire. With a fusion of punk energy and electronic beats, Wet Man's music is a high-octane ride through the fringes of rock and roll culture, wrapped in a shroud of gritty narratives.
Wet Man's performances are anything but solitary. Each show is a high-energy spectacle, where the stage becomes a battleground of frenetic beats and provocative themes. Songs about lizard alien conspiracy theorists, notorious English scandals, and the raw essence of rock and roll culture are delivered with an intensity that commands the audience's attention.
>>> STORMKERB:
Stormkerb are a rising Preston-based post-punk, post-rock, and post-hardcore band. Known for loud guitars, shifting dynamics, and gloomy yet catchy tracks, their music is heavily inspired by local brutalist architecture. The band emerged from the city's underground DIY music scene, as well as being involved in the local arts scene, collaborating on exhibitions focused on post-industrial life in Preston.
>>> EL WINSTANLEY:
Welcome to El’s living room, the cosy world where she leaves her self-awareness at the door to write sweet but eccentric songs, warm with sincerity, sung in English and Spanish. Using any instrument quiet enough not to wake up the kids, she combines retro synth and rudimentary drum loops with stoner guitar, the sparkling omnichord, and dashes of doo-wap harmonies layered through a loop pedal

>>> CROCODILES
Nearly 20 years ago, two teenage punks met at an antifascist gathering in their hometown of San Diego. A quick bond was formed over politics, poetry andmusicand the two very quickly became inseparable. Many projects followed, ranging from abrasive punk bands to harmonious '60s-indebted pop groups.
For the last 18 years, Charles Rowell and Brandon Welchez have been creating together under the name Crocodiles. Forever shape-shifting, the band have been celebrated and been maligned, but they have never been boring. And they have been nearly impossible to pin down. Are they psych-punk? Noise-pop? Art-gaze? They are all of this and none of this and more than this. Put simply, Crocodiles are one of the great rock 'n' roll bands of their generation. After nearly two decades, nine albums (including their latest dark-hearted salvo Greetings From Hell), and hundreds of shows around the globe the duo show no signs of letting up.

Somehow, 2024 saw the 30th anniversary of the birth of Glasgow's Disco/Punk legends bis, and now they move into their fourth decade of a rollercoaster existence.
A whirlwind first 18 months saw bis go from playing to a handful of curious future fans in Glasgow basements to peak-time TV stardom on Top of the Pops and filling huge tents at festivals across Europe all while still teenagers. While the UK media was in equal parts enamoured and horrified by the unorthodox musical DNA of the band, their knack for a nagging melody, unrelenting energy and wide-eyed politics saw them hit big in Japan, nearly breakthrough in America where they had label support from the Beastie Boys and touring with a diverse range of acts reflecting the disparate range of influences the band had - Foo Fighters, The Cardigans, Bikini Kill and Pavement to name but a few.
Whilst perhaps best known for early Riot-Grrrl influenced hit 'Kandy Pop' or the later slick Techno-Pop of 'Eurodisco', the band are also known worldwide as creators of the original theme to 'The Powerpuff Girls' cartoon.
After 3 albums and countless singles, the band temporarily called it a day in 2003, frustrated by record label struggles. They would reunite occasionally (an Islington Academy sellout in 2007 and a triumphant Primavera in 2012 amongst others) but returned with renewed vigour in 2019 with the 'Slight Disconnects' album and again in 2022 with the Rave-influenced 'Systems Music For Home Defence'.
As part of the 30 year anniversary celebrations, the band performed a stand-out sell-out show at Glasgow's iconic St Luke's which gathered fans from around the globe as well as respect from contemporaries like Mogwai and Franz Ferdinand. With their reputation as a must-see live band gathering pace even now, upcoming bis shows in 2026 will provide a real treat for hardcore fans and newcomers alike.

Ruts DC
What do you know about Ruts DC? What do you want to know about Ruts DC? It’s nearly fifty years since the two sevens clashed. In a little over fifty more years, they will clash again.
Back then the Ruts were hot wiring barbed wire guitar, passionate poetry and rhythm weaponry together somewhere in a London that probably does not exist anymore. Splicing heat haze dub thinking to the energy flash of punk, close to the big bang of late twentieth century culture. Open to ideas. Committed to ideals.
In 2025 Ruts DC have moved forward- taking these ideals and updating them to embrace the current cultural mindset. Drums and Bass building the defence wall. Guitar and whatever else lobbed in stun/attack mode. That is Ruts DC. That is all you really need to know.
“Ruts and Ruts DC songs move with a precise muscularity and carry lyrics of eloquent and graceful rage. No two-chord thrash with shouting over the top.”
“Some band’s sound punk. Some look punk. Some even look and sound punk. And some, simply, are punk. The Ruts were early challengers to the misunderstood notion that punk was a somewhat luddite dogma wherein complexity, creative exploration and musical prowess were considered a shameful affectation.’
Go back. Listen to everything. From the very beginning of The Ruts in 1977 to now, with the latest Ruts DC album ‘Counterculture?, the much-anticipated follow-up to 2016’s incendiary ‘Music Must Destroy’ album, both released via their own Sosumi Recordings.
People Unite.

Erotic Secrets of Pompeii play wild, weird apocalyptic lounge music - a twisted amalgamation of angular art rock and transgressive post-punk, transmitted directly from the heart of the forbidden zone. ESOP's music is populated by grotesque imagery and vivid symbolism, drawing from artists across different mediums, such as Terry Gilliam, Salvador Dali, Leonora Carrington, Francis Bacon, William Blake, Robert Anton Wilson and Leigh Bowery.
The band released their debut album, Mondo Maleficum, to wide acclaim in January 2024, followed by their latest album Pitchfork Libra in October 2025 which they are currently touring across the UK and Europe. ESOP's music has received airplay from BBC Radio 6, Radio X & BBC Introducing, and the band have played major festivals such as Boomtown, The Great Escape, Shambala & Bearded Theory, along with supporting Heavy Lungs & Electric Six.
“Album of the week, album of the year, and quite possibly album of the decade” – Louder Than War
Peer Pleasure are one big dysfunctional family, founded as a lockdown project and existing as a groupchat long before a band.
Featuring a collective of members from the south east of Ireland the band mixes elements of Noise, Blues, Garage and Punk music with an unhealthy Cynicism, Absurdist humour, Parish hall level resent and a healthy dose of Bare Knuckle call outs and other video nasties.
ZVILNIK have been around longer than they should have but display evolutionary tenacity by changing form every time they are supposed to die. Currently a two headed beast of strings and beats.
Makers of sci-fi-surf-cabaret-alt-rock. Zvilnik are superconductors of eccentricity, abusers of electricity, wheeler-dealers of the wonderful and weird. It's music for the end times, hysterically firing a water pistol at an incoming asteroid.

The universe of Gong began in 1969 when Daevid Allen was inspired by a profound psychedelic vision. A founder member of Soft Machine, Allen incorporated his spiritual and metaphysical leanings into an evolving collective, more a mythology than a band in the conventional sense.
The current incarnation, who were put together by Daevid before his swansong album with Gong, 'I See You', honour his intention that Gong do not die with him, urging the band to "carry it on into new unknown heights and depths far beyond anything I could ever imagine myself".
The collective is the most stable in Gong's illustrious history, having written, recorded and toured together for eleven years since Allen's passing. A dynamic, powerful and explosive live band, their music draws from the credo of the original Gong while remaining committed to pushing the composition, performances and message into new realms, paying no mind to nostalgia. Gong in 2026 continue the ethics, attitude and lifestyle that was always woven into the fabric of the band.
Line-up:
Ian East - saxophones and woodwinds
Fabio Golfetti - guitar and singing
Cheb Nettles - drums and singing
Dave Sturt - bass and singing
Kavus Torabi - singing and guitar

When a band is this much fun, we had to invite them back immediately. If you missed out last time, here’s your chance.
This band is as much ridiculous fun as it sounds. To summarise, it's a Rage Against the Machine tribute band, fronted by a Nicolas Cage tribute, with movie-specific props & costumes.

I am Darren Devonshire. Devvo for short.
MC DEVVO for when I'm rapping and shit.
I dun loads of stuff for TV and internet and that.
I like getting mashed out me mind and jail cells.
I had all the awards and then melted them down for chains and that.
Devvo as owt.
"MC Devvo was a precursor to the UK comedy rap market. Before Big Shaq, Roll Safe, Kurupt FM and all manner of YouTube and Instagram comedians, MC Devvo was satirising British life using music and comedy in a way that felt new. Maybe that's why he's had, in viral internet fame terms, an insanely long-lasting career." - VICE
Torridon + guests
Folk Rock from the Highlands of Scotland.
Folk Rock from the Highlands of Scotland. Torridon has cemented its reputation as one of Scotland’s most electric and high-impact folk-rock acts. Known for their thunderous, sold-out live performances, the six-piece band fuses the epic scale of rock and pop with the soaring power of Highland Bagpipes and traditional instrumentation.
Their anthemic sound is regularly compared to greats like Runrig and Big Country. Expect an explosive, hugely energetic show featuring fan favourites like the million-streaming hit “Highland Girl” and raw, emotive tracks from their latest album, Polaroid. This is heartfelt, modern Scottish storytelling backed by a truly immense, festival-ready sound.

Ben & The Believers are a Lancashire-based indie rock band built around the songs of songwriter and producer Ben Titley. Eclectic in both sound and influence, the band move effortlessly between driving indie rock, darker atmospheric moments, raw guitar energy and emotionally charged songwriting.
Their live shows balance intensity, melody and spontaneity, with performances that can shift from intimate and reflective to loud, euphoric and chaotic within the same set.
Rather than sticking rigidly to one genre, the band embrace contrast — combining big choruses, textured arrangements, restless guitars and moody atmospheres with songs that feel immediate, human and alive. There are flashes of classic rock ’n’ roll spirit throughout, but filtered through a distinctly modern independent voice.
With Regular Breaks - an indie/alternative band from the North-West of England, who create reflective, honest songs that gently push beyond the boundaries of the traditional singer-songwriter territory.
Formed in 2025 by co-writers Bill Nessworthy and Antony Jones, and later joined by drummer Ross Vickery and bassist Ian Matthews, the band blend intimacy with experimentation — weaving alt-rock weight and post-rock intricacy into emotionally direct songwriting.
And The Limes - Swiftly gaining a great reputation for their energetic performances & catchy melodic songs, The Limes formed in the Spring of ‘24 with their popularity and presence in the local music scene growing exponentially. Interaction is a strong trait of The Limes, with the crowd often invited to get involved with sing alongs.

>>> THE ZAWOSE QUEENS
The Zawose Queens are Leah and Pendo Zawose of the Tanzanian Wagogo people, whose joyous otherworldly vocals and polyphonic rhythms deftly blend the acoustic, electronic, traditional and modern.
There is spirit and fire in the music of The Zawose Queens. There's the vibrations of the ancestors, coming through on traditional instruments - soaring chizeze fiddle, buzzing illimba thumb piano, ngoma drums that chatter and thunder - and voices that go deep, high and out there. There's the connection to nature, to ceremony and ritual, in their dance-inspired fusion, their blend of the organic, harmonic and modern-day electronic. There are lyrics that tell, in their native kigogo, of the passion for music, the wonders of life. Of pride in environment, in tradition. In their East African roots.
Pendo and Leah Zawose showcase the fluid polyrhythms and rapturous polyphonic singing of the Gogo (aka Wagogo) people of the arid, hilly Dodoma region of central Tanzania. The most famous exponent of this musical tradition is the late, great Dr Hukwe Zawose (Pendo's father and Leah's grandfather).
Maisha, the debut album by The Zawose Queens (on Peter Gabriel's Real World Records), marks the first time that women from this famous musical family take their place as lead vocalists and performers. Emboldened by workshops in songwriting and music production with visiting UK-based producers Oli Barton-Wood (Jordan Rakei, Obongjayar, Nilufer Yanya) and Tom Excell (Nubiyan Twist, Onipa), The Zawose Queens began writing their first ever songs. The resulting collection of songs range from the stripped back and traditional-sounding to those treated with subtle electronic elements, with beats and drops and found sounds and switch-ups.

BCUC: Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness - Indigenous funk, hiphop consciousness and punk rock energy from Soweto, South Africa.
"Loved their set, it was one of my highlights of a great weekend" - Nick Dewey, Glastonbury Festival
"Without a doubt the best live act I saw"- Gilles Peterson
"Guaranteed to touch untapped corners of your soul" - Okayafrica
"The most impressive newcomers this year" - The Guardian
From humble beginnings, rehearsing in a shipping container a stone's throw from the church where Desmond Tutu organised the escape of the most wanted anti-Apartheid activists of Soweto, BCUC have grown to become one of the world's most celebrated bands, playing the biggest stages at some of the most important festivals in the world: Glastonbury West Holts, Roskilde, Afropunk Brooklyn, Worldwide, Womad, Boomtown, Colours of Ostrava & many more.
Like its elders, Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness sees its music as a hedonistic trance, but also as a weapon of political and spiritual liberation. 2023 even saw them win the prestigious Womex Artist Award, an accolade usually reserved for much older artists, in recognition of their fearless work ethic and prodigiously transformational live shows.
The seven-piece band has been mesmerising audiences both locally and globally with its indigenous funk and high-energy performances that have fast made it one of South Africa's most successful musical exports. Artistic heirs to Philip "Malombo" Tabane and Batsumi, they give contemporary voice to the ancestral traditions of indigenous peoples. Jazz sounds of 1970s and '80s productions replaced by hip-hop influences and punk-rock energy, taking the listener on an intriguing epic journey, sharing their controversial yet interesting views on modern Africa. They tackle the harsh realities of the voiceless, especially the plight of the uneducated workers at the bottom of the social food chain.
BCUC taps into the elusiveness of the spirit world of ancestors by which they are inspired. The Africa portrayed by BCUC is not poor, but rich in tradition, rituals and beliefs.
"We bring fun and emo-indigenous Afro psychedelic fire from the hood," says vocalist Kgomotso Mokone.

Experience an unforgettable night as two of the best voices of the past 30 years return to The Ferret for a special double bill, after their triumphant 2025 show. James Walsh of Starsailor and Ben Ottewell of Gomez will share the stage for a powerful evening of live music.
James Walsh - Starsailor frontman and solo artist - first found success as the lead singer, songwriter and guitarist with multi-platinum indie-rock band Starsailor. While known for iconic hits like Good Souls and Alcoholic, James has also carved out a powerful solo career, releasing acclaimed albums including Turning Point (2014), Tiger on the Bridge (2019), and Small Illusions (2021).
James has a prolific back catalogue, and his latest EP ‘Renewal’ offers the trademarks of James’ all-encompassing signature sound - beautifully-crafted songs, tender balladry, gorgeous melodies and candid lyricism which transports the listener into another dimension thanks to his captivating and endearing delivery.
Whether performing solo or with a band, James Walsh brings raw emotion and timeless songs to life with powerful, intimate live shows. From Starsailor hits to heartfelt solo tracks—every performance is unforgettable.

Ben Ottewell is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist best known as a founding member of the critically acclaimed British band Gomez. Ottewell’s distinctive baritone voice and blues-inspired guitar work became central to Gomez’s unique sound.
Gomez formed in the late 1990s, quickly gaining attention for their eclectic style, which blended blues, rock, folk, and indie influences. Gomez’s 1998 debut album, Bring It On, was a breakout success, winning the prestigious Mercury Prize and propelling the band to international recognition.
Throughout Gomez's career, Ottewell's soulful voice and introspective lyrics resonated with fans, earning him a dedicated following. His solo career saw him exploring a more stripped-down acoustic sound, showcasing his raw talent and emotive storytelling. Ben is well known for his unmistakable voice and talent for blistering and inspired guitar solos.
And as GQ Magazine once wrote and anyone listening can attest, "[his] voice is not of this world.”

>>> SAT 23RD MAY (doors 3pm)
MAN OF MOON
Since their beginning Man of Moon have been a standout live act. The Glasgow-based duo possess an extraordinary talent for cross-pollinating genres and styles but their sound is not hybridised, rather they are a synthesis of their influences; a pure sonic distillation of what has come before. You hear the mesmeric drones of Mogwai, the dynamic shifts of Radiohead, the harmonic angularity of Tool, the industrial amalgam of Nine Inch Nails, even hints of Pink Floyd's austere and abstract lyricism. Man of Moon are so much music in one band. And yet they've always sounded uniquely themselves; there is deep intentionality in every song's construction.
THE DSM IV
Formed in Liverpool in 2018 by former Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster frontman Guy McKnight, THE DSM IV crystallise the ultra real and the otherworldly, bringing a focused hyperrealism to the party. Their convention-defying live performances toy with audience expectations and stimulate questions of the narratives being sold to us as news—or entertainment—all to the beat of the drum machinist.
OORYA
- pronounced WHO ARE YA!? is a Queer Electro Punk Folk sonic excavation.
“We are pulsing against the tide of inequality, and the mycelium knows”
Made with a lyrically dancing neurodivergent synaesthetic soul machine; guitar, beats, synth and accompanied by Eon The Emotional Support Dinosaur. They are “incendiary” (BBC Introducing) “Breathtaking & Unforgettable” (Louder Than War) and a must see live! Guest artist on BBC 6Music’s Trunk Of Punk & signed to Society of Losers (Revolutionary Liverpool based record label) on their second gig.
“It is rare to see an artist so unique” (Future Yard)
THOSE FKKKKNG SNOWFLAKES
A vibrant clash of left wing punk, noise rock and jazz tinged math, a band formed as a means to scream out the dread and horror faced in these terrible times of our modern society. From the current mess of the UK political system to the intolerance of, well, everything. From race and gender to such simple items as Greggs releasing a Vegan Sausage Roll, the band are shouting about it backed with a tight unique sound and occasional off kilter humour.
"Deploying 1000 volts through the civility of discourse."
TRIANGLECUTS
Trianglecuts are a post punk electronic duo from Manchester. Recent gigs include supporting Dead Space Chamber Music and Vanishing at Samuel Worth Chapel in Sheffield, ‘Of Thee in the Tree’ at FellFoot Woods, Ulverston and ‘Say Hello Wave Goodbye’ at Aatma, Manchester.
POCKETKNIFE
Pocketknife are a Welsh/Mancunian melodic post-punk duo blending math-rock energy with hook-driven songwriting. Drawing influence from Biffy Clyro, PJ Harvey, Queens of the Stone Age and Dinosaur Jr., the band are known for intense live performances and have previously shared stages with Lightning Bolt, The Joy Formidable and Melt-Banana. After a hiatus, they've recently returned with new music and live shows.
HUMMUS
Lancaster four-piece Hummus blend prog-metal precision with funked-up grooves and leftfield pop hooks, serving up technically sharp original music packed with odd time signatures, soaring guitar work and plenty of personality.
>>> SUN 24TH MAY (doors 3pm)
LOOSE ARTICLES
Recently winning themselves coveted, high profile support slots with the likes of New Order, Foo Fighters, The Lovely Eggs, and Gang of Four, Loose Articles are a punk quartet with plenty to say. Specialising in discordant, hypnotic repetition, tales of nights out, and radical politics, their music speaks to all those determined to get through the age of austerity with tongue in cheek and two feet firmly on the dancefloor.
Plying repetition (repetition, repetition…) with ragged edges and a sardonic, sarcastic drawl delivered with fierce, in your face, punk-fueled attitude, both feminine & threatening, Loose Articles are here to make a point.
Already heavily championed by Steve Lamacq at BBC 6 Music (where they’ve also seen strong support from Chris Hawkins, Tom Robinson and Amy Lamé) the band have also picked up love from John Kennedy at Radio X, appearing on the Evening Playlist, and have appeared on Spotify’s The Punk List & championed by NME as one of The NME 100 list.
ZOOKRAUGHT (Seattle, USA)
3 piece dance-punk from Seattle - “Vida Violet is the captivating full length debut album of Seattle Dance-Punk trio Zookraught. From the opening squalls of Key and Lock, to the dizzying pace and frenetic energy of Chew Tobacco, Spit, and even a chaotic visit to the Waterparks of America (and Other Places, Too), Zookraught has adeptly transcribed the magic of their live shows that has developed for them a cult-like following in the Seattle punk scene. To the listener willing to let go and Get Zooked, Vida Violet is the album of the year.” - Jocelyn Crafts on Zookraught’s album VIDA VIOLET, out now!
THE EMPTY PAGE
Born in a humdrum town, Manchester alt-punkers The Empty Page started life in a freezing cold rehearsal space in a former cotton mill. Their anxious, energetic songs address heavy subjects like victim blaming, toxic anti-ageing rhetoric, and the end of the (f***ing) world but also bed rot, disco nostalgia, and house cats.
Fiercely independent, the band has released two LPs on its own DIY label. Unfolding, recorded with Gggarth Richardson (L7/Biffy Clyro/RATM) in Vancouver Canada, and Imploding produced by Morton Kong (Orielles/Everything Everything) in Stockport.
Between albums, a trio of 7-inch singles were released on bedroom label Punk Fox, and more recently, another trio, recorded with Matt Peel (Eagulls, Dream Wife, Bodega) at Nave Studios, a former church in Leeds. These catapulted the band beyond their cult status, with recent single A Feminine Ending shared by rock legends Courtney Love of the band Hole and Shirley Manson from Garbage.
THE RED STAINS
Cooking up a plastic fantastic disco-punk sound from a collage of musical influences, Manchester four-piece The Red Stains embrace the kitsch and the tacky as a power to disrupt the male-dominated music industry. Their sharp and sarcastic lyrics hold a mirror up to domestic everyday life: consumerism, mental illness, public transport, discount supermarkets and being queer.
Forming the Red Stains’ distinctive ready-meal-punk sound are four ingredients: Natalie Lauren’s fiery and powerful vocals hang over a backdrop of Sterling Kelly’s gritty, throbbing bass, Robyn Elliott’s drum beats that demand your attention and newly added into the mix; Liss Connelly’s cosmic synthesisers that shapeshift like shimmering stardust on nuclear alert to create the familiar ‘Red Stains’ chaos. Turn your microwaves up, turn the volume up, turn the hoover on and get ready to dance your socks off.
THE DIRT
The Dirt are a transglobal collaboration between Japanese musician Sachiko and partner Jack (aka Leon the pig Farmer), a spoken word artist living in Manchester UK. they combine Psych shoe gaze guitars, electronic rhythms and abrasive spoken verse to full genre bending effect.
MUTT
A selection of janky riffs and melodic bass lines, seamlessly blending atmosphere and groove with a political message! Preston-based band MUTT make motivated music for motivated people. No love songs here!
DREW YOUNG
Music enthusiast.

“A Beautiful World to Lose” sees the four-piece take their formative influences – from Bloc Party to Foals – and hone them until they're razor-sharp, while working in the unique ingredients that give them their own, instantly recognisable sound. This is a record that buzzes with the energy the band are renowned for at their live shows, like lightning in a bottle, taking their songwriting and musicianship to new heights.

Check out the amazing lineup:
>>> BONNIE TRASH
Bonnie Trash is the project of twin sisters Emmalia and Sarafina Bortolon-Vettor, wedding post-punk's steeley-eyed austerity to goth rock's brooding grandeur. Rather than fashioning nightmares into reality, the band paints reality as a nightmare; rife with pain, suffering, and gothic theatre.
Like their forebears Joy Division, Black Sabbath, or John Carpenter, Bonnie Trash understands that everyday atrocities haunt the periphery of our lives. A black cloud looming on the edge of our vision. Curses abound. You can't ward them off. You'd best make an unholy racket.
Where their first full length, Malocchio (2022), shrouded Bonnie Trash's nightmares in dusky dreamlike reverb, Mourning You (2025) is vivid and immediate. Mourning You is less a post-mortem fantasia than a sudden, swift dagger to the heart. This is sorrow not as a lingering bruise, but a gushing wound.
Bonnie Trash has performed at renowned festivals across Canada, and has shared the stage with TRAITRS, Chastity, Dilly Dally, Bria Salmena, and The OBGMs. In 2025, they embarked on their first UK and USA tour, and played to a sold-out crowd at Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg. They have been featured in Guitar World, Metal Hammer, Classic Rock Magazine, Exclaim!, BrooklynVegan, and The Line of Best Fit.
>>> TWO TONNE MACHETE
TWO TONNE MACHETE are a feminist alt punk band who make authentic, high energy, feel good punk anthems based in North West England and North Wales. Fronted by Emily's powerful vocals and guitars, their sound is bass-driven, melodic and unrelenting-landing somewhere between Mannequin Pussy, IDLES, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Distillers. Fiercely political and unapologetic, their songs tackle misogyny, control, toxic masculinity, sexuality and dissent with full-throttle energy and depth, keeping punk ethos front and centre.
Proudly DIY yet fast gaining momentum, TTM have been featured on BBC Introducing Merseyside and Radio X (John Kennedy), nominated for Radio Wigwam's Best Band, and won Best Band and Best Song at the Punk AF Awards 2025. With standout festival appearances at Focus Wales, Manchester Punk Festival and Rebellion Festival, they're building serious buzz.
>>> TAY TEMPLE
Alt Rock with a splash of Punk, Tay Temple is one of Manchester’s most ferocious acts.
Her music is centred in proudly asserting her queerness, advocating for self-expression and finding power in your own narrative.
Tay’s striking and dynamic live performance captivates audiences with untamed guitars, thrashing drums and soaring vocals that are ultimately a joyous outlet of rage. Citing influences of Dream Wife, Crawlers & Avril Lavigne.

_______________
British Birds:
Hatched in 2023 via tape loops and cheap nylon stringed guitars, Chorley-based British Birds soar from the depths of psych-tinged melancholy to the heights of disco-doused dystopia and back. From within the precariously soundproofed walls of their inconspicuous makeshift arthouse they meticulously craft their sound; dedicating themselves to the whole craft from recording, producing and releasing their records, to screenprinting their merch.
Thumping drums, grab-you-and-don't-let-you-go basslines, earwormy synth and sweet n shriek harmonies bolster frontman Bobby's cathartic vocals and staunchly stylistic guitar which jangles like Harrison's inner demon. The band have impressed fans around the country and beyond during tour support slots for The Lovely Eggs, Pale Blue Eyes and The Bug Club and their 3 live sessions for BBC 6 Music's Marc Riley.
British Birds were formed in 2023 after the closure of frontman Bobby Mambo's DIY venue Brock n Broll HQ which hosted acts such as Burger Records' Boytoy of New York, Salt Lake City's Max Pain & The Groovies, Castrovalva of Leeds, Manchester-based Fruit Tones, and Hannes Ferm from Stockholm. Bobby proceeded to piece together his new space with screen printing facilities and a recording studio which is largely built around his love of analogue equipment. This place provided the anvil and hammer to British Birds' debut LP In Search of Mr Rykyn, a self-reflective, self-made, self-released record, released in February 2024, full of swirling melody, nostalgic sensibility and unshakable melancholy.
_____________
Hauspoints:
Exploring a distinctly northern viewpoint on modernity, Hauspoints’ songs are like a love letter to popular culture, finding beauty in the mundane minutiae and celebrating the quirkiness of human existence.
Established on a dilapidated industrial estate at the foot of an overgrown hill in darkest Lancashire, their debut album, Eel Feeling, is a beat-heavy rasp that treads an unfurrowed path aside multiple genres without straying too far into the obscure.
_____________
Pyramid Eyes:
Pyramid Eyes combines ambient textures with minimal, glitchy beats to create a dreamlike sound. Everything from cinematic soundscapes to mind-bending polyrhythms.
Influenced by experimental electronic artists like Boards of Canada and Plaid, his use of quiet / loud dynamics have also drawn comparisons to post-rock acts like Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
