Advance tickets £29 - skiddle.com/e/41997648

Manchester legends Northside return, warming up for the Happy Mondays tour in March, with an exclusive show at The Ferret in Preston! Madchester energy turned all the way up.

Northside - Manchester’s own alternative rock pioneers, rising from Blackley & Moston to become a defining voice of the Madchester scene. Bursting onto the scene in 1989, they delivered their influential debut Chicken Rhythms on Factory Records in 1991, with genre-bending singles like Shall We Take a Trip and My Rising Star capturing the raw energy of early ’90s indie culture.

Despite shifting tides and a long hiatus, Northside’s legacy endures, and the band continues to bring that iconic blend of driving guitars, danceable rhythms, and unmistakable Mancunian attitude to stages across the UK and beyond.

Isolation - Born in the beating heart of Manchester’s guitar scene, Isolation are part of the new wave of Manchester guitar bands pushing indie rock forward. Blending driving riffs, atmospheric hooks and raw, relatable lyricism, the four-piece channel the spirit of early British indie with a sharp, modern intensity.

GRIPPERS >>>

Madrid’s Grippers have been tearing up stages since 2014 with their in-your-face blend of street punk, hardcore and snarling rock ’n’ roll. Female-fronted and fiercely DIY, they channel the punch of Drug Church, the bite of Bikini Kill and the swagger of Amyl and the Sniffers into a high-energy assault that tackles social grit and personal fire head-on. In 2026 they’re hitting harder than ever with their new album Disobedient Mental Attitude, featuring a special guest spot from Aimee of The Interrupters on the anthemic “Never Say Goodbye.” Loud, defiant and built for the pit, Grippers mean business.

\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

DEATH TRAILS >>>

Blackpool’s Death Trails are three different souls colliding in a blast of sweat-soaked volume and DIY spirit. Formed around 2019 in the Blackpool/Preston underground, they fuse punk, grunge, ska and hardcore into a raw, unfiltered live assault. Proudly made up of a mix of ethnicities, genders and sexualities, they channel a shared love of punk into shows that feel chaotic & heartfelt. Fresh from tearing up stages at Rebellion Festival, and armed with singles like “Cage By The Sea,” “Ska Dad,” and 2025’s “You Lose, Good Day,” Death Trails are loud, tight and impossible to ignore.

\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

TWO TONNE MACHETE >>>

Two Tonne Machete are a feminist alt punk band who make authentic, high energy, feel good punk anthems based in North West England and North Wales. Fronted by Emily’s powerful vocals and guitars, their sound is bass-driven, melodic and unrelenting—landing somewhere between Mannequin Pussy, IDLES, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Distillers. Fiercely political and unapologetic, their songs tackle misogyny, control, toxic masculinity, sexuality and dissent with full-throttle energy and depth, keeping punk ethos front and centre.

Proudly DIY yet fast gaining momentum, TTM have been featured on BBC Introducing and Radio X, won Radio Wigwam’s Best Band Award 2026, and won Best Band and Best Song at the Punk AF Awards 2025. With standout festival appearances at Focus Wales, Manchester Punk Festival and Rebellion Festival, they’re building serious buzz. Their latest single “PIGS, PIGS” dropped November 2025, with more new music and a debut EP landing summer 2026—expect power, melody and a band very much on the rise.

\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

DEAD SHEEP >>>

Blackpool’s Dead Sheep are a rising four-piece alt-rock outfit with great energy. Formed after meeting through sessions at More Music in Morecambe, they’ve quickly carved out a name across the Blackpool and Lancashire scene with powerful vocals and a tight, original sound that swings between grit and melody. They’re building momentum into 2026 with more live dates and the punchy single “Mansplaining” streaming now.

\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

PLAYMATE >>>

Liverpool’s PLAYMATE are a five-piece alt-rock outfit crashing onto the scene with big choruses, energy & attitude. Formed in late 2024 and fronted by the magnetic Jess Forrest, they fuse Indie cool with Post-Punk urgency — think the snap of Elastica, the brooding drive of Fontaines D.C. and the fearless punch of Alanis Morissette. Already making noise on home turf with shows at The Jacaranda, PLAYMATE are fast becoming one of Liverpool’s most exciting new alternative prospects.

\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

COCK BATTETH >>>

Blackpool’s Cock-Batteth are a three-piece riot of “Glitz & Glam weird ass Rock ’n’ Roll,” they smash dirty, raw riffs into disco-punk grooves with a sassy strut and zero apologies. Equal parts punk snarl and sleazy dancefloor stomp... like chewing orange gum under a flickering mirrorball.

///\\\///\\\

CUT (from Italy):

Italians "Cut" play a dark, groove-filled brand of garage noise rock that brings The Fall and The Stooges to mind in equal measure. Every song is a riotous adrenaline-sodden rocker in which Cut leave not one second unfulfilled or unexplored. This is rock music to be savoured and can be described as "John Lee Hooker stuck in a post-punk straitjacket".

PETE BENTHAM & THE DINNERLADIES:

Pete Bentham & The Dinnerladies play primitive rock and roll and sing about things they believe in. They started out in 2008 and have released five full length albums and two vinyl EP’s. They have played hundreds of shows around the UK and Europe and festivals such as Rebellion, Fire In The Mountain and Sound City.

Pageant Mum:

Wear your heart on your sleeve kids! And Pageant Mum do just that! They leave nothing behind with their post hardcore punky angst, driven guitars and feisty truthful lyrical content. When you figure out that this comes from a group of teenagers, Pageant Mum suddenly become your new favourite band, one to follow, one to celebrate and one to champion. Live they are a force of nature, on record their heart is laid bare and the angular twists and turns of Fugazi meet Paramore meet The Bronx resonate throughout.

Each show will feature the band's signature fusion of emotive instrumentation, multi-layered visuals, and projected short films-crafted to blur the boundaries between concert, cinema, and ritual. This latest tour will celebrate 15 years of Nordic Giants' live performances. Fans can expect an intimate yet monumental experience, as the duo will perform an entire album in full for the very first time.

Each night promises a unique journey, designed not just as a concert but as an invitation-to co-create, to invest in art that transcends the ordinary, and to dive deep into the intensity and fragile beauty of Nordic Giants' sonic universe.

L.O.E’s music tries to capture and reflect triumph, heroism, anguish and struggle throughout society. Not as a political stand, but to hold a mirror up to humanity. Weaving speech and video into live performance to create a cinematic experience of popular culture and a reflection of our times.

Ben Ottewell is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist best known as a founding member of the critically acclaimed British band Gomez. Ottewell’s distinctive baritone voice and blues-inspired guitar work became central to Gomez’s unique sound.

Gomez formed in the late 1990s, quickly gaining attention for their eclectic style, which blended blues, rock, folk, and indie influences. Gomez’s 1998 debut album, Bring It On, was a breakout success, winning the prestigious Mercury Prize and propelling the band to international recognition.

Throughout Gomez's career, Ottewell's soulful voice and introspective lyrics resonated with fans, earning him a dedicated following. His solo career saw him exploring a more stripped-down acoustic sound, showcasing his raw talent and emotive storytelling. Ben is well known for his unmistakable voice and talent for blistering and inspired guitar solos.

And as GQ Magazine once wrote and anyone listening can attest, "[his] voice is not of this world.”

Since then, Billy has fronted other bands, HAIG and Billy Bibby & The Wry Smiles, touring extensively across the UK and building a significant following. For this unique tour, Billy will solely focus on and celebrate his contribution to 'The Balcony' album, something he has never done before!

Billy Bibby will be performing the first Catfish album in its purest form with a stripped-back acoustic set featuring all the tracks recorded on it. From Billy - "I'm so excited to be playing these songs again! After 11 years, this album has become somewhat of a cult indie rock classic, and I'm so proud that I was a part of that which reached so many people's ears around the world!

SPECIAL thanks to every one of you who also bought it! This is a thank you to you guys and a closure for myself to be able to go and gig these tracks again and have some fun singing them with you all helping sing them back!

"MC Devvo was a precursor to the UK comedy rap market. Before Big Shaq, Roll Safe, Kurupt FM and all manner of YouTube and Instagram comedians, MC Devvo was satirising British life using music and comedy in a way that felt new. Formed in Southport in 1979, Blitzkrieg are bona fide UK punk rock legends - forged in the first wave and still raising hell decades later. A vital force in the birth of British hardcore, they delivered raw, no-frills aggression at breakneck speed, earning a fierce underground following. Despite the incendiary name, Blitzkrieg have always held a firmly anti-Nazi stance. Fast, loud and unapologetic, they remain a relentless reminder that real punk doesn't slow down.

Support from:

Pre-Empted -

A fiery three-piece punk/grunge outfit from Darwen, known for their raw, energetic live shows and youthful DIY spirit on the NW music scene.

MRI -

MRI hail from Liverpool. They produce a loud shouty noise that some people have confused with music and even called it Punk or Metal or Psych.

Certified Hip Hop Royalty at The Ferret once again! Members of two of hiphop's most beloved underground groups join forces as the last surviving member of the legendary group Artifacts, El Da Sensei teams up with Mr Len (Company Flow) to rock stages across Europe.

Pioneers of East Coast rap in the 90s, Artifacts are celebrated for their crunching beats, iconic horn loops, sharp lyricism & classic boom bap anthems.

Tracks like ‘Wrong Side of Da Tracks’ and ‘C’mon Wit Da Git Down’ cemented their legacy—one that continues to resonate across generations. Their charting records captured the raw energy of New Jersey’s thriving hip-hop scene.

Collaborating with legends like Mos Def and KRS-One, El Da Sensei continues to carry the torch for East Coast hip hop culture with his unmatched stage presence and golden-era flow.

Despite the unfortunate passing of DJ Kaos in 2019, and Tame One in 2022, El Da Sensei remains resolute in keeping the Artifacts' legacy alive, with support from Mr Len of Company Flow

Mr. Len: Founding member of Company Flow, one of the most innovative underground hip hop groups of all time. Mr. Len helped redefine the sound of the late ’90s with raw beats, experimental cuts, and uncompromising independence. His DJ sets and live performances remain as groundbreaking as ever.

This one is for the head boppers and underground rap lovers - relive some of hip-hop’s greatest moments this Feb, only at The Ferret.

Mikey D.O.N:

A real legend in the music scene, Mikey started his career at a very early age – after getting his first turntable in 1975. Late 1986 saw Mikey, along with his older brother and close family friend, start a rap group called KRISPY 3. The group’s first-ever appearance was on Steve Barker’s legendary ‘On The Wire’ radio show on Radio Lancashire on Sunday January 10th 1987. Krispy 3 were one of the first Hip Hop acts out of the UK to do BBC Radio 1 Sessions for John Peel, and also Steve Lamacq & Jo Whiley. Krispy 3 also made history by being one of the first UK hip hop acts to get heavy rotation on’ Yo! MTV Raps’ – resulting in Mikey now being humbly known as a UK Hip Hop Pioneer.

The honour and respect Mikey’s gained over the decades has lead him to DJing and performing at countless shows ranging from the likes Lee Scratch Perry, Bunny Wailer, David Rodigan, Maxi Priest, Marcia Griffiths, Gregory Isaacs, etc, to Hip Hop acts Big Daddy Kane, EPMD, Biz Markie, Slum Village, Ali Shaheed Mohammed (ATCQ), Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Roots Manuva, Gangstarr, Ultra Magnetic MC’s, etc, funk groups like Roy Ayers, Breakestra, Brand New Heavies, to D&B/Junglist legends Nicky Blackmarket, Aries, DJ Hype, etc, and playing many club nights and venues such as Fabric, Eat Your Greens, Hit & Run, D*Percussion & Club Asylum (Jamaica) to name but a few. The same goes for Festivals such as BoomTown, SolFest, BeatHerder, Latitude, Boom Bap, Kendal Calling, etc – the list goes on and on.

Explosive, unpredictable, and unapologetically original. THE HARA are one of the UK's most exciting rock acts, known for their high-octane live shows and genre-defying sound. Hailing from Manchester, the trio - frontman Josh Taylor, guitarist Zack Breen, and drummer Jack Kennedy - blend elements of alt rock, punk, pop, and electronic energy to create a sound that’s uniquely their own: a cinematic Rock/NRG fusion that’s as intense as it is addictive.

Since forming, THE HARA have built a fiercely loyal fanbase and earned a reputation for electrifying festival performances, including standout sets at Reading & Leeds, Download, TRNSMT, and the main stage at Isle of Wight Festival. Their raw intensity and theatrical stage presence have cemented them as a must-see live band, with Kerrang! hailing them as “future festival headliners in the making.”

With a string of acclaimed EPs, viral singles, and a rapidly growing global following, THE HARA aren’t just making noise, they’re making a movement. The Fallout Tour marks a thrilling new chapter, showcasing their biggest, boldest, and most ambitious sound yet.

Picture a desert crossroads: engines roaring, amps blazing, dust in the air. Hard-hitting rock riffs collide with filthy blues grooves and psychedelic soul. That’s the sound of Blackballed.

Formed in 2012 by brothers Marshall Gill (guitar/vocals) and Leon Gill (drums/vocals), later joined by bassist Tom Wibberley, the band quickly built a reputation for explosive live shows.

Drawing on years of touring experience across Europe, Australia, Brazil and the USA, Blackballed forged a raw, powerful sound that led to acclaimed releases including Collosus and Fultons Point.

Now fronted by drummer Alex Whitehead, the reinvented trio continue to tear through stages worldwide, delivering razor-sharp musicianship and unstoppable energy.

In an anodyne world, Blackballed are fresh blood.

Soldato is a gritty hard rock originals band formed in 2016 in Preston, UK. Known for their rhythmic heavy beats, dirty guitar riffs, and a raw, punchy rock-and-roll energy, the group quickly carved out a reputation on the UK live circuit with headlining shows and festival appearances within their first year of forming.

The four-piece lineup blends seasoned musicians from diverse musical backgrounds, each bringing individual influences that fuel the band’s dynamic sound. Their music delivers catchy hooks with an edgy, unpolished feel that sits squarely in the hard rock tradition while maintaining a modern punch.

Deadcast are a hard-hitting alternative rock band built on raw energy, driving riffs, and an uncompromising live sound. Emerging from the local underground scene, the band has quickly developed a reputation for powerful performances and a no-nonsense approach to modern rock music.

Welcome to <<ELEKTRONISCH>>

The Ferret’s semi-regular electronic music event, showcasing live techno, electronica, and synthy-business.

<<Guerrilla Biscuits>>

Creating and curating improvised immersive sonic journeys packed full of glitchy beats, sweet hooks & filthy grooves; all mixed and mashed in real time.

https://guerrillabiscuits.bandcamp.com/

<<Taeybs>>

Lyrics and sound design are both of equal importance in Taeybs' quirky tales. Tunes about Haberdashers, pet Gerbils, and strange happenings in village halls are conveyed with light hearted sincerity. Intricate melodies on retro synths, harps and upright pianos are combined with domestic samples and buoyant beats. It is fun, though sometimes sad, heartfelt, and enthralled to the absurd. Think Talking Heads meets Four Tet meets Ariel Pink meets Ivor Cutler.

<<Temporary Bodies>>

Temporary Bodies explores ethereal, cinematic territory, weaving hypnagogic lo-fi pop through drone and orchestral soundbeds. Sparse percussion and buried vocals sit at the core of the sound, which exists somewhere between Grouper, Joy Division, HTRK, and Marsen Jules. Heavy repetition lends the music a ritualistic quality and shapes it into emotionally resonant electronica.

<<DJs: Raze | Stu.0 | Tyramyx>>

This edition of <<elektronisch>> is completed with DJ sets from RAZE + STU.0 + TYRAMYX. Expect eclectic electronica including mutant techno & electro, dark industrial, solid grooves and mind-melting dancefloor destroyers.

A night of boundary-pushing heavy music lands in the North West as three genre-defying acts collide for an intense, high-energy live show.

DREADNOUGHT - A self produced north west artist/producer, seamlessly blending a mix of modern metal, grime/rap, electronic/industrial and punk into a cinematic soundscape.

The project began in 2016 by founding member Brandon Donohue. However, was put on hold to focus on his former band No Gods No Masters and working on his production skills along side both FMA + 12 Gage and the Neurodivergent Crew. Brandon, though, felt it was best to pursue his own creative vision and brushed the dust off dreadnought to give it 110%.

He now works as a full time producer and in 2025 dropped his first project/album ‘Fatal Flaw’ followed by a tour across Turkey. He is set to release both an EP and the follow up album by 2026 as well as growing his YouTube channel to explore the world of YouTube producers and song creation.

MONVRCHS - Blending crushing riffs, atmospheric melodies, and raw emotion, MONVRCHS draw inspiration from heavyweights like Polaris, While She Sleeps, Currents, Architects, Alpha Wolf, and Thrown. Their sound delivers a relentless mix of aggression and introspection, combining intricate guitar work, pounding drums, and intense vocals that capture both fury and vulnerability. With a passion for pushing boundaries, MONVRCHS aims to stand out, carving their own space in the modern Metalcore scene.

FMA + 12 GAGE - An explosive father-son rap-metal duo with rapid-fire delivery, thought-provoking lyricism and genre-bending beats. Known for their chemistry and high-energy performances, they blend heavy instrumentals with sharp storytelling.

Founded in 2016 by former CKY frontman Deron Miller & named after CKY’s cult classic “96 Quite Bitter Beings,” the band carries Miller’s signature mix of heavy riffs and progressive melodies into a new era.

Their crowdfunded debut Camp Pain (2018) set the foundation, followed by Synergy Restored (2022) on Nuclear Blast, which expanded their sound with greater intensity and groove. In 2023, the band hit the road for the Infiltrate•Destroy•Rebuild Tour, performing CKY’s 2002 album in full alongside 96BB originals. The momentum continued with Return to Hellview (2024), a reimagined collection of CKY favorites with updated production. Most recently, in July 2025, the band released 96 Quite Bitter Beings 2025 through Distant Recordings—a new version of the track that gave the group its name—featuring Miller with Cameron Dewald (bass), Tuomas Vuorio (drums), and Matt Sheehan (synths).

With each release, 96 Bitter Beings has built a catalog that bridges past and present, balancing nostalgia with new creative drive. Their music continues to resonate with longtime CKY fans while carving out a distinct identity of its own.

Today, the lineup consists of Deron Miller, Cameron Dewald, Tyler Sturgill and Tuomas Vuorio.

Championed by BBC Introducing Lancashire throughout 2025, Lancaster’s @mortonbettsband are raw, raucous, and refreshingly unfiltered.

At the core are Jack Taylor and Niall Graham, the songwriting engine behind the band’s genre-scrambling sound, bolstered live by Liam Santon’s thunderous drums and Joe Lewis’ groove-soaked basslines. Blending the grit of punk, the swagger of rock 'n' roll, and a touch of progressive edge, Morton Betts are loud, bold, and exactly the kind of band you'd write home about — if your letter didn't get soaked in beer first.

With The Juice - five northern lads, dishing out scally rock with a sweet pop sheen, and Storm Kerb, a Preston based post-rock outfit.

///

The Orielles:

"You've got to die and be reborn between albums," begins Henry Wade, guitarist for The Orielles, describing the foundations of the band's fourth studio album, Only You Left. "It comes naturally," adds singer and bassist Esmé Hand-Halford, "it's not something we consciously do."

Through this process of creative renewal, the Manchester-based trio - completed by drummer Sidonie Hand-Halford - have managed to weather a pandemic, defy the fickleness of a trend-led music industry, and emerge, phoenix-like, with something familiarly Orielles, yet altogether different.

Recorded in two locations - Hydra and Hamburg - over the summer of 2024, the 11 tracks of Only You Left sees the band consolidate the bold experimentation of their previous LP, Tableau (2022), with a return to the more stripped-back, song-led approach of their early origins.

"There's nothing more trad than a three-piece," quips Henry, in reference to the band's decision to return to their roots as a trio. Originally from Halifax, the Orielles first came to recognition in 2018 with their debut album, the indie-rock Silver Dollar Moment, which is approaching its eighth birthday in February 2026. "These things come in like seven year cycles. So we've come in like a full circle back to a familiar place, just as different people."

By exploring binaries and contrasts, the Orielles are finding shapes in the chaos and confusion of the world around us - it's an undertaking that benefits from more than 15 years of close collaboration, driven by friendship and the artistic compulsion to find meaning in music.

///

Midnight Rodeo:

Nottingham-based 6 piece Midnight Rodeo released their debut album, "Chaos Era" (July 2025) to resounding praise from the likes of BBC Radio 6, DIY, KEXP, Shindig & CLASH. After taking their own brand of "joyous escapism" across the UK & Europe during autumn 2025, 2026 already has another UK tour, multiple European tours & a trip stateside caught on the Rodeo's lasso.

Extensive, relentless touring since 2023 (sold-out hometown shows, The Great Escape, Dot To Dot, and Kendal Calling) created a tight-knit family, their pleasure in playing as an ensemble is instantly evident on the album. When asked about this they'll explain, "We want people to tap into why we are always smiling on stage."

The songs are collaborative efforts. Their different musical backgrounds result in a genre criss-crossing and totally unique creative collisions. Bassist Harry says, "What we do is Dada-istic. The drums play hooks, the bass plays parts usually taken by brass, the guitar's playing West Coast psyche over disco rhythms."

///

Man of Moon:

Since their beginning Man of Moon have been a standout live act. The Glasgow-based duo possess an extraordinary talent for cross-pollinating genres and styles but their sound is not hybridised, rather they are a synthesis of their influences; a pure sonic distillation of what has come before. You hear the mesmeric drones of Mogwai, the dynamic shifts of Radiohead, the harmonic angularity of Tool, the industrial amalgam of Nine Inch Nails, even hints of Pink Floyd's austere and abstract lyricism. Man of Moon are so much music in one band. And yet they've always sounded uniquely themselves; there is deep intentionality in every song's construction.

///

CURRLS:

The future of DIY is here - Formed in Brighton, Currls are a DIY Garage Rock band who burst onto the scene in 2017 and have since become a formidable presence in the underground circuit. Seamlessly blending raw Garage rock, fast-paced Punk, and sludgy Pop, Currls is a sonic powerhouse that will leave you feeling ready to take on the world.

Since their inception, Currls have gained notable support from BBC 6 Music’s Amy Lamè, Marc Riley, Steve Lamcaq, BBC Radio 1’s Alyx Holcombe and BBC Introducing’s Melita Dennett.

Recent triumphs include winning Record Store Day's 'Unsigned 2023' competition, recording a 'BBC Introducing Live Session' at Maida Vale Studios, and a 'BBC 6 Music: Live In Session' with Marc Riley.

In a world saturated with conformity, Currls stands as a beacon of authenticity - A trio that defies expectations and leaves an everlasting imprint on the hearts of those who dare to listen.

“CURRLS are a rallying cry. Scuzzy riot grrrl inspired pop-punk made for the main stage. Authentic, snarling and converting you to the band’s cause as she goes.” - Lauren Down (Line Of Best Fit)

Mad Professor comes to Preston!

A disciple of Lee 'Scratch' Perry', Mad Professor stands as one of the leading producers in dub reggae's second generation.

One of the most respected figures in the genre's transition into the digital age, Mad Professor soon found himself in demand as a remixer for rock, R&B, and electronica acts. Over the course of the '90s and into the new millennium, he would remix tracks by Sade, The Orb, The KLF, The Beastie Boys, and Depeche Mode, among others. His best-known project, however - and the one that truly established his credentials - was 1995's No Protection, a completely reimagined version of trip-hop collective Massive Attack's second album, Protection.

Having started building electronic equipment in the seventies, Neil Fraser evolved into building mixing desks and sound effect units. He opened his self built recording studios in 1979 attracting a variety of artists and musicians, from Sister Audrey, Mikey Dread, Ruts DC, Pato Banton, Macka B, Desmond Decker, Matumbi & more - they all recorded through the custom built mixing desk that was favoured by soundsystem giants Jah Shaka, Coxsone, Aba Shanti, Wassifa and many more.

Mad Professor pioneered the Live Electronic Dub Show, becoming the first engineer to mix live from the stage, sometimes with tapes, or musicians, very often with artists from the Ariwa label, from Aisha to Lee Scratch Perry.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Jonny Rockers Soundsystem brings those well known vibes jam packed full of ROOTS, REGGAE & DUB. You know the drill. Expect reggae vibes with roots and dub sounds from the full crew AND HEAVY BASS from the sound system.

The Clause are a four-piece from Birmingham who bring together the swagger of the 60s, the rolling groove of the 80s and the riotous verve and attitude of the 90s.  Pearce Macca (frontman), Niall Fennell (drummer) Jonny Fyffe (bassist) and Liam Deakin (guitarist) effortlessly combine huge hooks with gritty verses, indie sensibilities, rhythm and blues groove and melodies to create an altogether different beast.

The music defies categorisation, rolling seamlessly from crashing percussion to huge, swinging bass. There are epic singalong choruses and darker, edgier moments evoking late night cruises down dingy back streets. The band have been together since they were kids and they have matured into one of the UK’s most exciting new bands.

The band released their debut album this year peaking at number eight on the Official Album Chart and number one in the Independent Album Chart, no mean feat for a fully independent release. The album will be followed up with a headline tour including dates in London, Glasgow, Sheffield, Leeds, Newcastle and a massive homecoming gig in Birmingham’s 3000 capacity O2 Academy. The boys also have had a packed summer itinerary of festivals including Isle of Wight, NBHD Weekender, Sound City, Tramlines, Truck, Kendal Calling and Mallorca Live.

Oslo Twins are a London-based dream pop duo crafting moody, synth-driven soundscapes that blend trip hop, lo-fi, and atmospheric electronica.

The Bristol-formed group, named by DIY as ‘boundary-pushing’, have unveiled their latest track, produced by band members Eric Davies and Claudia Vulliamy in their East London studio. The track was mixed by Matteo Buccomino and mastered by John Webber.

Marking a new era since their highly-praised 2023 debut EP Back To Nothing (released via Ali Chant’s Fascination Street Records), ‘Sally’ brings us straight in with a punchy and relentlessly catchy bassline. Clean and intricately syncopated, this track is a lusciously textured showcase of Oslo Twins’ evolving sound, which is venturing into cleaner, more electronic territory.

Hidden in the song’s infectious beat and joyful synths, there is a tone of yearning and melancholia. Pithy and vernacular lyrics in the verses hint at hidden emotions, while the chorus reveals what’s behind the cool facade:

“Each release only seems to get catchier.” - Line Of Best Fit
