We’ve got a FREE ENTRY double primate feature this Thursday in the form of indifferentMonKeY & Chimps Of The Future 🐒🤘

indifferentMonKeY are an alternative rock band that blends elements of rock, electronic, and trip-hop, creating a unique and eclectic sound that feels like a new genre which has been referred to as "Trip Hop Rock".

Their songs tend to have a dark, moody vibe, exploring themes of societal struggles, personal introspection, and the human condition. IndifferentMonKeY has carved out a niche in the indie music scene, often compared to bands like Massive Attack, Prodigy, Black Sabbath or Portishead.

CHIMPS OF THE FUTURE are a gang of Lancastrian discordians aiming to bring wonderment into your dreary little lives. Hail Eris! Hail Discordia!

Forming in Preston as a result of some lock-down blues, Tuesday Night Whites are a five-piece Indie Rock band who have taken the local scene by storm.

Basing the name of their beloved Preston North End, the band started off as an energetic acoustic duo, raising the roof in jam-packed clubs and bars. Since then, they have evolved into five, selling out their first headline hometown show in under 24 hours.

After a couple of memorable support slots, Tuesday Night Whites took to their first headline gig outside of Preston, selling over a hundred tickets pre-door, catching the eyes of people all over the Northwest… all without an official song release. Their catchy, energetic indie anthems inspired heavily by the likes of The Snuts, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Oasis led to their first release, The Renegade.

With belting vocals and immaculate instrumentals, a song about standing out from the crowd and making your own mark on the world seemed the perfect fit for this bands first official release. With an incredibly loyal fanbase and their ecstatic anthem-like tunes, Tuesday Night Whites are definitely ones to keep your eyes on.

///

Having ended 2024 with a riotous sold-out headline tour - without releasing a note of music - VILLANELLE now share their eagerly anticipated debut single ‘Hinge’. The track arrives as the band, featuring Gene Gallagher (vocals/guitar), Ben Taylor (guitar) and Jack Schiavo (bass) are putting the finishing touches to their upcoming debut EP.

Amid a rising wave of grunge revivalism, VILLANELLE are at the forefront— keeping it visceral and real, connecting with audiences through their distinct blend of raw authenticity and pure rock and roll.

‘Hinge’ delivers a bold statement of intent. Every gnarly, ragged guitar riff is an earworm, the bass rumbles with grimy, distorted low-end intensity, drums thunder-and-groove in equal measure, and the vocals shift from urgent and soaring through to drawled nonchalance. Influences range from the melodic rush of The Who and The Buzzcocks, to the heavier spirit of Nirvana’s ‘Incesticide’, Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins, Dinosaur Jr and Black Sabbath, and the maximalist wall of sound of My Bloody Valentine.

Gene says, “That’s my favourite sort of music, so there’s some of that in everything I write. ‘Hinge’ is about paranoia derived from sleepless nights. I was probably hungover when I wrote it.”

“‘Hinge’ is just simple and high energy,” adds Ben. “Anyone can play it, but no one can play it like us.”

VILLANELLE were formed by friends Gene, Ben and Jack in the summer of 2023. Gene’s livewire creativity is balanced by Ben’s tight, composed musicianship. “Gene brings the most unique perspective on both life and music of anyone I’ve ever met,” states Ben. “I’m very organised with the way I play music, and Gene is the complete opposite.” Whilst bassist Jack, who Gene describes as having “the height of Krist Novoselic and the attitude of Duff McKagen” is the glue that holds it all together.

On the live front, VILLANELLE will celebrate the release of ‘Hinge’ with a sold-out London launch show at Jaguar Shoes on September 11th. They then embark upon an underplay headline tour in December.

For this WINTER WHINGEFEST edition, the incredible line-up is:

STEALING SHEEP // SILVERWINGKILLER // dead things // dull. // Filthydirty // Skull Dust // Whinge

STEALING SHEEP:

THE PROPULSIVE AVANT-POP REBELS OF LIVERPOOL BRINGING ENERGY BACK TO THE REAL WORLD

You might have stumbled across Stealing Sheep before-maybe their debut single 'Shut Eye' snuck into your feed as a rogue viral meme, lurking in the obscure corners of YouTube and TikTok catching your attention with their infectious avant pop, bold over the top visuals and gaming inspired looks that have gained the group a cult following over the years.

Hailing from Liverpool, UK, Stealing Sheep are a trio of Becky, Emily and Lucy - friends and bandmates of 15 years who have fearlessly carved out their own brand of pop championed through fan art and deep cut devotion. Drawing inspiration from everything ranging from online Therian and cosplay communities to multidisciplinary art of Jeremy Deller, KLF and Tracey Emin, Stealing Sheep presents a kaleidoscopic sonic manifesto that is addictive with its oddball pop and explosive aesthetics. Their self-described 'visual pop' might not have topped the charts, but it's fuelled a dedicated cult following (shoutout to the 6 Music dads keeping the faith!).

Now, they're back with a new album (GLO - Girl Life Online) and a new label (G-IRL - Girl In Real Life) - both marking a bold new era for Stealing Sheep. Produced by Joe Wills at Nan's House Studio, the new chapter presents a quintessentially idiosyncratic blend of musical inspirations ranging from medieval electronic pop to rave pop, UK garage, and PC music.

Unapologetically both otherworldly and DIY, the new album and the launch of their own label marks a new era for Stealing Sheep: it's a declaration of independence and a creative movement pulsating with kaleidoscopic joy and determination to bring energy back to the real world.

SILVERWINGKILLER:

Industrial. Punk. Chaos. SILVERWINGKILLER is a Salford-based duo, welding aggressive bass, live breakbeats, and multilingual vocals into wild electronic punk. Inspired by sci-fi, human culture, and deep-cut video games, SILVERWINGKILLER is the sound of experimental, raving psychosis. They played one of their earliest gigs at Whingefest VIII and since then have really blown up. We can't wait to see em again.

dead things:

dead things are a three-piece powerhouse embracing the grit of garage rock, while flaunting fractured riffs and infectious melodies. Hailing from Preston, dead things, have a catalogue of post-punk ditties about chilling tales of old Lancashire and horror movie final girls.

Their first vinyl single was released through Cracked Ankles Records and sold out in five minutes. It was named single of the week in Louder than War and then made two of their favourite artists lists!

Again, they played one of their first gigs at Whingefest VII back in 2023 - just great bands every time innit?

"[Terry Clark] is a sucker punch to the gut from a power trio who mean business. Definitely ones to watch" - Louder Than War

dull.

This new electronic noise & psych rock duo have been making a real splash in Lancaster & beyond - and now signed to the almost-ubiquitous CRACKED ANKLES of course. Plus they smashed their early doors set at Glastonferret this year, can't wait to see em at Whingefest.

"Pile driving riffs and sonic noise backed with a powerful drum / vocal onslaught. What's not to like?" - Louder Than War

Filthydirty:

The clown prince of Evil Blizzard (& label boss of Cracked Ankles) returns with his mystery guitar goblin.

'The glammed up weirdo FilthyDirty gets a bit bored, finds some unreleased Blizz tracks that didn't quite work at the time, fucks around with them a bit, dusts off his bass / electric drum kit and finds his way around some mental abrasive sound that blasts it way well over eleven.'

Skull Dust:

One part of Hauspoints, Skull Dust delivers miserable electronics from Chorley. Born from the death of some things, Skull Dust drags itself from the grave to spit out gothic industrial post-punk. Each set bleeds warped samples, pounding electronics and synth-drenched raw tension. Haunted noise for the end times.

WHINGE:

Aaaaaand, don't forget your cordial hosts & "expert curators": Whinge.

"Like the best bands; more a gang than a group." - Cracked Ankles

Post-punk & Psych informed DIY garage-rock played with gay abandon, Whinge slam together influences from the Mondays to the Sabbath, ESG to LCD, Genesis to the Rapture.

Oslo Twins are a London-based dream pop duo crafting moody, synth-driven soundscapes that blend trip hop, lo-fi, and atmospheric electronica.

The Bristol-formed group, named by DIY as ‘boundary-pushing’, have unveiled their latest track, produced by band members Eric Davies and Claudia Vulliamy in their East London studio. The track was mixed by Matteo Buccomino and mastered by John Webber.

Marking a new era since their highly-praised 2023 debut EP Back To Nothing (released via Ali Chant’s Fascination Street Records), ‘Sally’ brings us straight in with a punchy and relentlessly catchy bassline. Clean and intricately syncopated, this track is a lusciously textured showcase of Oslo Twins’ evolving sound, which is venturing into cleaner, more electronic territory.

Hidden in the song’s infectious beat and joyful synths, there is a tone of yearning and melancholia. Pithy and vernacular lyrics in the verses hint at hidden emotions, while the chorus reveals what’s behind the cool facade:

“Each release only seems to get catchier.” - Line Of Best Fit

The Clause are a four-piece from Birmingham who bring together the swagger of the 60s, the rolling groove of the 80s and the riotous verve and attitude of the 90s.  Pearce Macca (frontman), Niall Fennell (drummer) Jonny Fyffe (bassist) and Liam Deakin (guitarist) effortlessly combine huge hooks with gritty verses, indie sensibilities, rhythm and blues groove and melodies to create an altogether different beast.

The music defies categorisation, rolling seamlessly from crashing percussion to huge, swinging bass. There are epic singalong choruses and darker, edgier moments evoking late night cruises down dingy back streets. The band have been together since they were kids and they have matured into one of the UK’s most exciting new bands.

The band released their debut album this year peaking at number eight on the Official Album Chart and number one in the Independent Album Chart, no mean feat for a fully independent release. The album will be followed up with a headline tour including dates in London, Glasgow, Sheffield, Leeds, Newcastle and a massive homecoming gig in Birmingham’s 3000 capacity O2 Academy. The boys also have had a packed summer itinerary of festivals including Isle of Wight, NBHD Weekender, Sound City, Tramlines, Truck, Kendal Calling and Mallorca Live.

Mad Professor comes to Preston!

A disciple of Lee 'Scratch' Perry', Mad Professor stands as one of the leading producers in dub reggae's second generation.

One of the most respected figures in the genre's transition into the digital age, Mad Professor soon found himself in demand as a remixer for rock, R&B, and electronica acts. Over the course of the '90s and into the new millennium, he would remix tracks by Sade, The Orb, The KLF, The Beastie Boys, and Depeche Mode, among others. His best-known project, however - and the one that truly established his credentials - was 1995's No Protection, a completely reimagined version of trip-hop collective Massive Attack's second album, Protection.

Having started building electronic equipment in the seventies, Neil Fraser evolved into building mixing desks and sound effect units. He opened his self built recording studios in 1979 attracting a variety of artists and musicians, from Sister Audrey, Mikey Dread, Ruts DC, Pato Banton, Macka B, Desmond Decker, Matumbi & more - they all recorded through the custom built mixing desk that was favoured by soundsystem giants Jah Shaka, Coxsone, Aba Shanti, Wassifa and many more.

Mad Professor pioneered the Live Electronic Dub Show, becoming the first engineer to mix live from the stage, sometimes with tapes, or musicians, very often with artists from the Ariwa label, from Aisha to Lee Scratch Perry.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Jonny Rockers Soundsystem brings those well known vibes jam packed full of ROOTS, REGGAE & DUB. You know the drill. Expect reggae vibes with roots and dub sounds from the full crew AND HEAVY BASS from the sound system.

The Orielles:

"You've got to die and be reborn between albums," begins Henry Wade, guitarist for The Orielles, describing the foundations of the band's fourth studio album, Only You Left. "It comes naturally," adds singer and bassist Esmé Hand-Halford, "it's not something we consciously do."

Through this process of creative renewal, the Manchester-based trio - completed by drummer Sidonie Hand-Halford - have managed to weather a pandemic, defy the fickleness of a trend-led music industry, and emerge, phoenix-like, with something familiarly Orielles, yet altogether different.

Recorded in two locations - Hydra and Hamburg - over the summer of 2024, the 11 tracks of Only You Left sees the band consolidate the bold experimentation of their previous LP, Tableau (2022), with a return to the more stripped-back, song-led approach of their early origins.

"There's nothing more trad than a three-piece," quips Henry, in reference to the band's decision to return to their roots as a trio. Originally from Halifax, the Orielles first came to recognition in 2018 with their debut album, the indie-rock Silver Dollar Moment, which is approaching its eighth birthday in February 2026. "These things come in like seven year cycles. So we've come in like a full circle back to a familiar place, just as different people."

By exploring binaries and contrasts, the Orielles are finding shapes in the chaos and confusion of the world around us - it's an undertaking that benefits from more than 15 years of close collaboration, driven by friendship and the artistic compulsion to find meaning in music.

Midnight Rodeo:

Nottingham-based 6 piece Midnight Rodeo released their debut album, "Chaos Era" (July 2025) to resounding praise from the likes of BBC Radio 6, DIY, KEXP, Shindig & CLASH. After taking their own brand of "joyous escapism" across the UK & Europe during autumn 2025, 2026 already has another UK tour, multiple European tours & a trip stateside caught on the Rodeo's lasso.

Extensive, relentless touring since 2023 (sold-out hometown shows, The Great Escape, Dot To Dot, and Kendal Calling) created a tight-knit family, their pleasure in playing as an ensemble is instantly evident on the album. When asked about this they'll explain, "We want people to tap into why we are always smiling on stage."

The songs are collaborative efforts. Their different musical backgrounds result in a genre criss-crossing and totally unique creative collisions. Bassist Harry says, "What we do is Dada-istic. The drums play hooks, the bass plays parts usually taken by brass, the guitar's playing West Coast psyche over disco rhythms."

///

Man of Moon:

Since their beginning Man of Moon have been a standout live act. The Glasgow-based duo possess an extraordinary talent for cross-pollinating genres and styles but their sound is not hybridised, rather they are a synthesis of their influences; a pure sonic distillation of what has come before. You hear the mesmeric drones of Mogwai, the dynamic shifts of Radiohead, the harmonic angularity of Tool, the industrial amalgam of Nine Inch Nails, even hints of Pink Floyd's austere and abstract lyricism. Man of Moon are so much music in one band. And yet they've always sounded uniquely themselves; there is deep intentionality in every song's construction.

Their crowdfunded debut Camp Pain (2018) set the foundation, followed by Synergy Restored (2022) on Nuclear Blast, which expanded their sound with greater intensity and groove. In 2023, the band hit the road for the Infiltrate•Destroy•Rebuild Tour, performing CKY’s 2002 album in full alongside 96BB originals. The momentum continued with Return to Hellview (2024), a reimagined collection of CKY favorites with updated production. Most recently, in July 2025, the band released 96 Quite Bitter Beings 2025 through Distant Recordings—a new version of the track that gave the group its name—featuring Miller with Cameron Dewald (bass), Tuomas Vuorio (drums), and Matt Sheehan (synths).

With each release, 96 Bitter Beings has built a catalog that bridges past and present, balancing nostalgia with new creative drive. Their music continues to resonate with longtime CKY fans while carving out a distinct identity of its own.

Today, the lineup consists of Deron Miller, Cameron Dewald, Tyler Sturgill and Tuomas Vuorio.

Explosive, unpredictable, and unapologetically original. THE HARA are one of the UK's most exciting rock acts, known for their high-octane live shows and genre-defying sound. Hailing from Manchester, the trio - frontman Josh Taylor, guitarist Zack Breen, and drummer Jack Kennedy - blend elements of alt rock, punk, pop, and electronic energy to create a sound that’s uniquely their own: a cinematic Rock/NRG fusion that’s as intense as it is addictive.

Since forming, THE HARA have built a fiercely loyal fanbase and earned a reputation for electrifying festival performances, including standout sets at Reading & Leeds, Download, TRNSMT, and the main stage at Isle of Wight Festival. Their raw intensity and theatrical stage presence have cemented them as a must-see live band, with Kerrang! hailing them as “future festival headliners in the making.”

With a string of acclaimed EPs, viral singles, and a rapidly growing global following, THE HARA aren’t just making noise, they’re making a movement. The Fallout Tour marks a thrilling new chapter, showcasing their biggest, boldest, and most ambitious sound yet.

THE GUEST LIST

Monday 13th April 2026

The Ferret, Preston

To buy tickets for this event please visit our events page: The Guest List tickets from Skiddle .

Ticket sales powered by Skiddle

Formed in early 2021, The Guest List quickly made a name for themselves in the Manchester music scene with mature lyricism, energetic performances, and an ever-growing online and live fan base. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Cai Alty, lead guitarist Tom Quigley, bassist Sid Wallace, drummer Angus Gilchrist, and rhythm guitarist Leio Hunter.

From the start, The Guest List stood out with their blend of melodic guitar riffs and relatable lyrics, capturing the essence of a modern band while maintaining a fresh and authentic sound. In 2024, tracks London and Loose Tongue significantly boosted the band's presence in the live music scene. Both songs were produced by James Skelly, frontman of The Coral, at Liverpool's Kempston Street Studios. These tracks caught the attention of BBC Radio 6 Music's Chris Hawkins, who featured them as his Track of the Dawn selections on his morning show.

Beyond the studio, The Guest List has built an impressive presence on social media, amassing over 400,000 followers and nearly 8 million likes on TikTok. Their engaging online presence has helped them connect with fans worldwide, while their Spotify audience continues to grow, with tens of thousands of monthly listeners.

The band's rapid rise has seen them share stages with some of indie rock's biggest names, including Two Door Cinema Club, The Wombats, Inhaler, Blossoms, and Seb Lowe. Most recently, they celebrated a major milestone by selling out their first-ever UK headline tour.

2025 saw The Guest List appear at some of the UK's biggest festivals, including NBHD Weekender, Kendal Calling, Truck Festival, Y-Not Festival, Victorious Festival, and more.

With a dedicated fan base and an ever-growing presence in the UK music scene, The Guest List are proving to be one of the most exciting new bands in the country.

Since then, Billy has fronted other bands, HAIG and Billy Bibby & The Wry Smiles, touring extensively across the UK and building a significant following. For this unique tour, Billy will solely focus on and celebrate his contribution to 'The Balcony' album, something he has never done before!

Billy Bibby will be performing the first Catfish album in its purest form with a stripped-back acoustic set featuring all the tracks recorded on it. The Balcony Tour will be full of nostalgia, powerful delivery and include short anecdotes about the times spent writing and recording it with the band. This is a must-see for Catfish fans!

From Billy - "I'm so excited to be playing these songs again! After 11 years, this album has become somewhat of a cult indie rock classic, and I'm so proud that I was a part of that which reached so many people's ears around the world!

SPECIAL thanks to every one of you who also bought it! This is a thank you to you guys and a closure for myself to be able to go and gig these tracks again and have some fun singing them with you all helping sing them back!

Let's tear some roofs off with our lungs!"

Get out of your home studio or bedroom, and come out to a fun, supportive night with other enthusiastic tech heads, dabblers and music fans. You don’t need to be an established artist with a full repertoire. This is for anyone who wants to try their hand at playing live in a safe, motivating environment.

Computers, digital boxes, DJ controllers, drum machines, gadgets, groove boxes, keyboard synths, loop stations, modular synths, phone apps, samplers, sequencers… and everything in between. All welcome!

Come out and meet other music makers, producers and creative types from all walks of music making. There should be plenty of time to talk gear, production techniques and a whole range of inspiring ideas.

The event will run from roughly 7pm-11.00pm with wiggle room depending on interest.

Slots are up to 20 minutes. Some pre-booked slots have gone but we do have a few left - so email emompreston@gmail.com to grab one. Additional walk-in slots will be available on the night. First come first served.

Take to The Ferret stage with full live-music PA & sound engineer. We will have a table for you to setup on, and another one to the side, for the next performer to prep their gear. In order for the event to run smoothly, we ask that you prepare a mono or stereo mix of your setup before handing your outputs over to us; we will not be able to mix your outputs for you in the given time. Vocal mics & mic stands available.

Sorry - no acoustic guitars – unless they are being used to generate soundscapes or some other style of music in keeping with the night (e.g. through pedals, FX units etc.)

Additionally, feel free to bring a USB stick containing visuals you'd like to be projected during your set.

Entrance is FREE for both performers and spectators, so gather your friends and fellow electronic music enthusiasts to join us for an incredible night of creativity and musical exploration!

Pentire are an indie band who make pop songs for the post-jangle generation through the smiles and sweat of the mosh pit. This Herefordshire four-piece tell cheap lager-soaked stories of student life, a small-town upbringing, and the innocence of youth.

Brought up on a diet of The Killers, Paolo Nutini and Stereophonics, frontman and principal songwriter Jack formed a band with his best mate Owen in the sleepy town of Ross-on-Wye. The two friends met drummer Jake and bass player Jacob whilst at university, which cemented the four-piece that is now selling out venues across the UK.

With support from BBC Radio 1, Pentire completed a landmark sold-out UK tour in early 2024, including a full house for their hometown show at the infamous 'Thekla'.

WRKHOUSE - One of Amazing Radio’s tips for 2025, the north Walian four-piece  WRKHOUSE have capped off a strong debut year. Earning them a Triskel Award at the 2024 Welsh Music Prize, their long-awaited EP Out of the Blue delivers an uber-confident blend of bilingual songwriting, infectious hooks, expansive arrangements, and rich textures of their North Wales roots.

With praise from CLASH, Radio 1's Sian Eleri, and BBC Introducing's Jess Iszat, WRKHOUSE have gained a dedicated fanbase across the UK. Their atmospheric, groove-heavy alt-pop places them firmly among Wales’ newest generation of exciting emerging acts. Last autumn, WRKHOUSE brought their 2024 to an explosive conclusion with ‘Take,’ the final chapter of their Out of the Blue journey. Having recently gained the support of Help Musicians’ Next Level Award, as well as PRS Foundation’s PPL Momentum Accelerator Award, work is well underway on the band’s next string of releases.

COACH PARTY:

Hailing from the Isle of Wight, Coach Party have quickly become one of the most exciting names in the UK indie-rock scene. Armed with a punchy mix of fuzzy guitars, sardonic lyricism and heart-on-sleeve vulnerability, the four-piece: Jess Eastwood (vocals/bass), Steph Norris (guitar), Joe Perry (guitar), and Guy Page (drums) - channel the likes of Wolf Alice and Pixies while carving out a sound that’s unmistakably their own.

Since forming in 2019, they’ve gone from sharp newcomers to full-throttle festival favourites, earning critical praise and support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, NME, and DIY. Known for their explosive live shows and “laugh-so-you-don’t-cry” charm, Coach Party are a band who connect deeply, whether they’re screaming through angst-laced anthems or delivering surprisingly tender moments.

Their latest album, Caramel, is a delicious blend of candied chaos and emotional rawness. Packed with sticky hooks, sharp wit and a heavier edge than ever before, it’s an album that tastes sweet, but definitely bites back.

———

Pageant Mum:

Wear your heart on your sleeve kids! And Pageant Mum do just that! They leave nothing behind with their post hardcore punky angst, driven guitars and feisty truthful lyrical content. When you figure out that this comes from a group of teenagers, Pageant Mum suddenly become your new favourite band, one to follow, one to celebrate and one to champion. Live they are a force of nature, on record their heart is laid bare and the angular twists and turns of Fugazi meet Paramore meet The Bronx resonate throughout.

A pseudonym of Yorkshire based composer Thomas Ragsdale, the music of Sulk Rooms draws the link between euphoric electronica and smoke engulfed drones. Slow-morphing textures sequence and cascade, encapsulating intimate moments of colliding sound amongst fluttering arpeggios and transcending synth builds.

A predominant soundtrack artist included in many of Adam Curtis’ groundbreaking BBC documentaries as well as scoring BBC true crime series, Netflix features and Prada commercials, Sulk Rooms is part of Domino Publishing’s prestigious composer roster.

Atmospheric music for the head alongside the heart, Sulk Rooms' music captures spontaneous audio mirages and saturated imperfections within a crushing backdrop of low end and harmonic ferocity. Electric soundscapes and rising techno map Sulk Rooms' universe where panoramic pulses fuel adrenaline charged synths to feelings of both wonder and unease.

“Sulk Rooms summons slow moving and portentous drones that feel both elemental and diffuse” - Wire Magazine

James Adrian Brown is the former lead guitarist of the alternative rock band Pulled Apart By Horses. After achieving chart success, touring the world, and releasing four critically acclaimed studio albums with PABH, James has begun paving a new path in instrumental electronic music and composition.

Brown’s solo work is heavily electronica-based, utilising analogue synths alongside tape machines, piano, strings, and immersive ambient atmospherics. His focus lies in the analogue process of capturing and creating sound using physical hardware.

He has received support from the likes of Gideon Coe on BBC 6 Music and Chris Hawkins, who championed him for creating “massive electronic soundscapes in a Mogwai kind of world.” James was also featured on BBC Radio 3’s Unclassified by host Elizabeth Alker.

Taking inspiration from artists such as Boards of Canada, Rival Consoles and Thom Yorke, Brown is exploring, evolving, and pushing his songwriting into bold new sonic territories. His debut album is set to be released on the revered UK electronic label Castles In Space, marking a significant new chapter in his journey as a solo artist.

Polypores’ mercurial live performances range from highly textural, intricately woven modular synth tapestries, through to whirling psychedelic freak-outs with hypnotic polyrhythms and fuzzed-up drum machines.

A riveting performer in complete symbiosis with his instrument, each Polypores performance is a unique channeling of the weird energies that make up his fractal musical universe.

The Telescopes have been described by the British music press as "more a revolution of the psyche than a revolution of the sidewalk"; a thread consistent throughout a body of work spanning over 30 years. The band has released 16 studio albums across various music labels including but not limited to Creation Records and Tapete Records with their most recent album Growing Eyes Become String out now on Fuzz Club Records. A new album is currently being recorded for Tapete Records and is slated for 2025 release.

Solid songs, melody, harmony, noise, dissonance, improvisation, experimentation and an all-embracing journey beyond the realm of natural vision. These are the trademarks of quality that longtime fans associate with The Telescopes music.

Loaded with guitars, noise and melody, swirling around pounding repetition, expect a masterfully hypnotic set that matches its more melodic spaced-out moments against heavy drone-rock blow-outs.

////

Gdansk81:

Indie & shoegaze from this 6-piece post-punk guitar & synth outfit from Manchester & Liverpool, recently seen supporting The Chameleons & The Wedding Present.

////

Bleak:
(Utopian Mechanics)

Bleak is the collaborative vessel of Patrick and Jonathan — an exploration of sound, texture, and space. Through improvisation and intuition, the duo moves fluidly between ambience and abrasion, building vast sonic landscapes that dissolve as quickly as they emerge. Their debut 'May We Roam' charted a journey through the unknown, while 'recovery 281224' stripped everything back to the raw act of creation itself. On stage, Bleak channel that same tension between restraint and release — a live excavation of noise, emotion, and chance.

A sharp-tongued, side-eyed night of spoken word featuring the poem I Want My Country Back which has received over four million views on social media.

Louise Exactly is spilling the tea and serving it up with a side of poetry, politics and unapologetic power.

A sharp-tongued, side-eyed night of spoken word where being British means questioning, queering and confronting, coloniser ghosts and corner-shop truths.

Expect a rhyme revolution and MILF energy so potent it could topple the monarchy.

Is this Britain? Messy, furious and flirting with the idea of change.

Come for the poetry. Stay for the revolution. Leave with a belly-laugh full of hope.

Louise’s poem I Want My Country Back went viral in August 2025, receiving over four million views within days of its release in August 2025. The poem was written in reaction to the displaying of thousands of flags in towns and cities across the UK.
Louise Exactly, also known as Lousie Fazackerley, has appeared on BBC 1’s Breakfast show, as well as BBC Radio 3 and 4, performing her work to millions of people and talking about issues surrounding poetry and northern life.

She has supported the godfather of punk poetry John Cooper Clarke on tour and her work has been hailed by several of the UK’s best poets and literary icons:

MAI MAI MAI (Italy)

Known for his incredible blend of Southern Italian Folklore, industrial drone, proto-techno & punishing miasmic electronic music, Toni Cutrone aka Mai Mai Mai lands at The Ferret as part of his AUDIO/VIDEO UK tour this November.

The practice of Mai Mai Mai focuses on noise as a creative media for ritualistic live performances, some of them in the past years sharing the stage with GNOD, Giant Swan and The Bug.

MAI MAI MAI is the audio/video project of Toni Cutrone, a descent into the ritualistic and symbolic depths of Southern Italy and the Mediterranean. Through a dense weave of sound and imagery, it explores the intersection of folklore, spirituality, and popular culture — where pagan rites meet Catholicism, nature meets rural magic, and ancient musical traditions collide with their contemporary transformations.

Using field recordings, archival material, and collaborations with artists from the avant/ethnic scene — including Youmna Saba, Mike Cooper, Vera di Lecce, Lino Capra Vaccina, Maria Violenza, Nziria, and Go Dugon — Mai Mai Mai builds a sonic landscape rooted in what could be called Mediterranean Hauntology: not a nostalgic reverence for the past, but a noisy awakening of its ghosts, brought back to resonate through the present.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

DEATH GOD

Brand new industrial techno project from Peter J Taylor of Manchester/New York noise collective HOLY SCUM. Expect heavy/mutant techno/electronica a la JK Flesh etc.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

SHE THE THRONE

SHE THE THRONE are a Ritual Noise 2 piece from Manchester UK. They aim to bring forth an ancient latent rhythmic union merging themselves, the space they play with and the audience who listens, urging them to remember. Musically incorporating elements of industrial music and harsh noise with the darker melody of bands like Portishead, fused to the backbone of experimental hip hop. Since the release of their 2023 album, “NUNTIS” on Trepanation Recordings they have shared the stage with: The Body & Dis Fig (US), Wolf Eyes, METH, AYA, Dälek and more.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

TEMPORARY BODIES

Temporary Bodies is the new project from Preston-based artist Mike Warburton (Barium Network / Utopian Mechanics). Based entirely around live, improvised performance - on-the-spot loops are fed through an array of fx pedals to create layers of sonorous strings and pads, swirling ambient textures and melodies that range from the Baroque to the bleak.

Inspired by the characteristics of artists like Grouper, MJ Guider, Silent Servant and Deaf Center amongst many more, Temporary Bodies also uses hypnotic drum loops, orchestral motifs and sparse vocals to build a dense, cathartic experience that guides the listener through themes of loss and longing into a place of quiet optimism.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

HYPNAGONGIA

Live atmospheric electronics paired with traditional instruments & “various criggley shriglers” from certified gong master Paul Dilworth.

The Real People, pioneers of the 90's Brit pop movement, were formed by Tony and Chris Griffiths in 1988.

Signed to CBS in Dec 1989 they released their eponymous debut album including the singles Window Pane, Open Up Your Mind and The Truth in 1991.

The band then embarked on a series of successful British, European, American and Japanese tours, also appearing at Glastonbury and supporting major artists such as The Pixies, David Bowie and Inspiral Carpets to name a few.

The Realies (as they are known to their fans) then recorded their second album Marshmallow Lane with the help of legendary producer Jimmy Miller (Rolling Stones etc). This album provided the Top 40 single 'Believer'.

Whilst touring with Inspiral Carpets, Chris and Tony took the then Inspirals roadie Noel Gallagher under their wing, along with his brother Liam and the rest of Oasis. The Real People invited Oasis into their studio to develop and record the new band, resulting in the now famous Live Demonstration Tape which subsequently secured them a major deal with Alan McGee and Creation Records. Once signed by Creation, Chris and Tony were instrumental in the recording of Oasis' first single 'Supersonic', with Tony providing the backing vocals. Chris also co-wrote the B-side to 'Roll With It' entitled 'Rockin' Chair' which helped set Oasis on the path to becoming world wide stars and the biggest band of the past 30 years. The Real People also inspired several other Oasis songs such as 'Columbia' and 'Don't Go Away'.

Around this time Chris and Tony continued writing and developing other artists - including writing a Top 10 single for Cher.

In 1996 The Real People signed to MGL Records and released their third album 'What's On The Outside' which included the singles 'Rolling Stone', 'Rayners Lane' and 'People In The Telly'. The band also embarked on tours including numerous tours with their good friends Ocean Colour Scene, Paul Weller and Simple Minds.

The Real People continued writing and touring for the next few years resulting in their now cult following and new albums 'Think Positive' and 'Monday Morning Breakdown'.

If you haven't heard The Realies before, you really should. But don't take our word for it - please read this Jon Robb article for Louder Than War setting out why The Real People are one of the most respected and influential bands of the past 35 years: https://louderthanwar.com/the-real-people-live-review

The Kowloons - Introducing The Kowloons, a fresh Liverpool band revitalising Britpop with their fusion of jangly guitars and danceable rhythms. Formed in 2022 by twin brothers Stephen Ng (vocals) and Anthony Ng (drums), the line up expanded to include Mason Jones (guitar) and Bobby Griffiths (bass).

Building on the success of their debut EP ‘James Dean’, their most recent single ‘I Don’t Care’ cements them at the heart of Liverpool’s thriving music scene.

With an effortless, feel-good energy, ‘I Don’t Care’ tells the story of kindred spirits bound by an unshakable connection. Anchored by the anthemic chant of “I don’t care”, the song captures the band’s “us against the world” mindset.

The Kowloon's signature sound is rich and nostalgic, drawing on the golden era of 90s Britpop bands like The La’s, Oasis and Ocean Colour Scene.

“Body Horror deal in a hard electro based type of rhythmical post punk, a type of savage New Order soundtrack overlayed by an unrepentant snarl” - Steve Lamacq BBC Radio 6

To buy tickets for this event please visit our events page: Body Horror tickets from Skiddle .

Ticket sales powered by Skiddle

Body Horror met by chance when three members happened to move into the same Tottenham warehouse in 2016. Bonded by a passion for not sleeping and getting weird at techno parties, the post-punk songs they’d been writing gradually took more and more influence from raves. Before long they’d picked up a drum machine and a couple of synths and were pairing industrial beats and sequenced synths with sharp guitars, demented themes and feral vocal hooks. Body Horror found themselves at a crossroad between The Prodigy and The Birthday Party, and having released a few singles we’ll soon see their first proper release with a self-titled EP in 2025.

As can be heard in their last single Goodboy, Gethyn Thomas’s vocal style has moved more towards a rapping style; the vocalist’s Welsh dialect coming out in the verses as the lyrics pop through with a much faster, more rhythmical flow. That’s an approach he aims to lean further into with the upcoming EP; Thomas saying “All the tracks are written by building the rhythm and beats first, front and centre. So it just felt natural for the vocals to move in that direction. I wasn’t consciously trying to rap, it just became similar to rapping because I was enjoying creating the flows so much”.

This melding of the aforementioned Post-Punk influences, with Techno-inspired beats and the rap-adjacent lyrical style hits hard and feels as fresh as anything else around right now, the band having formed a cult-following around London for their pumping live shows.

Material Goods - UK-based duo blending industrial electronic and post-punk influences. Drawing inspiration from acts like Nine Inch Nails and IDLES, they craft gritty, analog synth-driven tracks characterized by distorted vocals and clean melodies. Formed in late 2023, their DIY ethos and raw energy have quickly made them a standout in the underground scene.

Forming the Heathen Apostles in 2013, Mather Louth (Radio Noir) and rock n roll veteran Chopper Franklin (The Cramps, Mau Maus, Nick Curran & the Lowlifes) quickly uncovered a mutual appreciation for murder balladry, Americana, and memento mori. The band's sonic landscape was further tilled with the addition of Thomas Lorioux (Kings of Nuthin', Legendary Shack Shakers) on bass and Luis Mascaro on violin.

Their 7 critically acclaimed albums, along with their many EPs and singles (their release The Fall was named Best E P of 2018 by Folk n Rock magazine), capture the essence of the Heathen Apostles modus operandi: Southern Gothic Americana imagery surrounded by haunting, minor-chord melodies, musical influences including Gothic Roots music, Bluegrass, Blues, and Gypsy Jazz, all deftly bound together by the band's dark and sometimes brooding sense of a bygone age.

"As if plucked from a surreal spaghetti western, Mather Louth and Chopper Franklin made quite the spectacle, striding down London's Pentonville Road in full regalia... The Heathen Apostles had etched themselves into our dark hearts, ensuring their spectral melodies and mystical storytelling would stay with us long after the last note had faded into the night." - 1st 3 Magazine

Orange Skies - Orange Skies is a young all-female rock band from Vienna, Austria that combines the classic rock sound of the 70s with the pop sound of today's music. Their songwriting is very personal and dominated by storytelling. Turning their emotions into music and playing it in front of people is what makes the four musicians the happiest. Their musical journey began when they all came together in 2022 and decided they wanted to be the all-female rock band that they never got to see while growing up.

Art Gallery - Art Gallery is a goth rock band known for their unique blend of dark aesthetics and experimental sounds. Based in the UK, they describe their style as "goth rock and general weirdness," delivering performances that are both haunting and captivating. Their music often explores themes of introspection and the surreal, making them a distinctive presence in the alternative music scene.
