Zürich-based Pina Palau's music could be described as crush and heartbreak meet dry humour, vulnerability meets warmth. Pina always reports from the perspective of a musician who’s quietly exploring the human mind. Live, her band offer pedal-steel romance, western-style guitar picking and fuzz-Telecaster flares, Hear it and you’ll understand why Pina is sometimes called the “Swiss sister of Adrienne Lenker”. Other pertinent reference points would be Courtney Barnett and Anna Erhard.
The new album ‘You Better Get Used To It’ has seen high praise in BBC Radio 6, Radio X and saw her play at Bristol’s Ritual Union Festival. Riley and Coe are caning Pina's new single 'Atwater' at the moment.
With Exploding Head, Pixies-style grungy indie from Carlisle! Make sure you get to The Ferret early so as not to miss them.
