Humour is a Glasgow-based five-piece band that emerged during the 2021 lockdowns. Their music blends post-punk, post-hardcore, and experimental rock, characterized by surreal lyrics and dynamic vocal performances. The band consists of Andreas Christodoulidis (vocals), Ross Patrizio (guitar), Jack Lyall (guitar), Lewis Doig (bass), and Ruairidh Smith (drums).
In November 2022, Humour released their debut EP, Pure Misery, through So Young Records. The EP received acclaim for its inventive sound and intense energy, with NME describing it as "a riot of invention". Their follow-up EP, A Small Crowd Gathered To Watch Me, was released in December 2023, further establishing their presence in the alternative music scene.
Humour's live performances have garnered attention, leading to tours across Europe, including appearances at festivals like Left of the Dial in Rotterdam. They have also played notable venues such as Glasgow's King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh.
The band's creative process is deeply intertwined with visual art, as frontman Andreas Christodoulidis creates sketches and artwork that accompany their music, aiming to make each song "look the way that it sounds".
