Singer, songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Natalie McCool shines as a major star in the UK indie world, having risen through the ranks and amassed a ton of organic support and critical acclaim. Based in Liverpool, she is known for her truly innovative and beautiful take on pop music, she released her debut album ‘The Great Unknown’ in 2016. Her new album ‘Memory Girl’, released in July 2021, has enabled her to embark on a brand-new adventure with recent singles Closure, A Sun Going Down, Take Me To Your Leader and Devils achieving great support across national press and radio. With songs that capture themes of childhood, adulthood, love, jealousy and loss, it sets the tone for such an ambitious and exciting act.

Speaking about the new album, she said, “Memory Girl is about childhood and adulthood. Songs that feel introspective. Songs about not having a voice, finding a voice, jealousy, love, loss and peace. It’s about things that have left a deep mark on you one way or another, those moments from the past that hit you and knock you sideways, either making you laugh out loud or nearly die of embarrassment. It has a strong focus on the habits and mental state of myself and those very close to me. It’s really close and introspective. It’s about discovering yourself, recognising what's good for you and what’s not - it’s about learning curves.”

The Line of Best Fit:

“Despite “being on the inside looking out”, McCool is sure to be in the minds of her listeners with Memory Girl. The album is truly alluring and takes place inside the mind of the typical introvert. Begging to be accepted, McCool approaches the exceptional.”

Clash Magazine:

“After five years of us impatiently waiting, we’ve been blessed with an emotive nostalgia trip in just ten tracks. Traversing the spectrum of what makes us human, embracing 80s synth, pop sensibilities and touching base with her internalised indie teen, McCool has curated a scrapbook of her reality. But in doing so, she offers listeners a path to the past, as her songs soundtrack moments of pain, love and life.”

Resident Records:

“Having spent the last few years developing and cultivating her sound, ‘memory girl’ marks a major milestone in the Liverpudlian’s career to date. Bringing together a wealth of material she has released over the last year, as well as brand new offerings, her new full-length aims to create a fresh and retrospective look at her output so far, giving us a tantalising taste of her glorious direction.”

Wonderland Magazine:

“Emerging artist Natalie McCool is back with a dreamy alt-pop offering and we weren’t ready. Lifted from her forthcoming album A Sun Going Down, McCool’s titular track, showcases more of her rich and bold sound, as her vocals slide over a bed of sweeping synths and heart-pumping productions to create an alluring and soothing soundscape.”
