A closer look at the line-up:

GEN & THE DEGENERATES:

Degenerates by name and by nature...

This band is a riot of anthemic rock and aggression that brings a swagger, charm and presence to the stage making them one of the most memorable emerging live bands on the vibrant British rock scene. With a debut EP and fan favourite single Girl God Gun already under their belt, their upcoming UK Headline tour and everything coming next for the Degenerates will only further prove that fact.

Coming off the back of a packed year; touring with UK rock giants Skunk Anansie, a summer full of festivals including a much lauded 2000 Trees festival debut, and shows with fellow hot names in alternative: Crawlers and Kelsy Karter, the degenerates are here to drop a kaleidoscopic menage a trois of Post Punk, Garage Rock and impactful, socially conscious lyrics.

FLOWERS OF EVIL:

Manchester based Flowers Of Evil (Oscar Puente, Phia Sky, Ted Booth) are an LGBTQ+ fronted art-pop outfit, pairing new romantic flavours with industrial ‘80s goth beats to create something enamouring and unforgettable. Their postmodern theatrics provide an extra element of intrigue for listeners, and since forming in 2020 have collaborated with a number of artists from the queer community and far beyond.

20th May sees the release of their new single ‘Mop The Floor’ - via their own label and events brand Evil Things - in collaboration with Maria Uzor of the critically acclaimed duo Sink Ya Teeth. ‘Mop The Floor’ truly demonstrates what Flowers Of Evil are about - hypnotic, bass-laden synth provide the bones of the track, paired just right with Oscar’s beguiling vocal delivery and Maria’s add playful dramatics. Lyrically it comments on methods of tackling the mundanity of repetition, and welcoming in chaos to disrupt convention.

[SLAB]:

[slab] formed in 2019 in a basement rehearsal room in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. The murky grime and atmosphere of the rehearsal space influenced the band to write a bunch of moody instrumental post rock tunes, ranging from quiet introspection to full throttle blasts of drums, bass and guitar.

During 2021 the band spent time recording with Simon ‘Ding’ Archer (Pixies / PJ Harvey) at local studio 6dB and are in the process of finishing off their first album. The first EP ‘Ready for the Light’ has been released and is the best place to start getting acquainted with the band and their signature sound.

ready for the light motors into action….bursting its banks and delivering a thrilling widescreen post rock explosion” (ManchesterMusic.co.uk)

“an extraordinary piece of music” (Guy Garvey BBC 6 Music)
