ELOHYMN

https://www.facebook.com/100064652186861

Elohymn (from Chorley) are back with a bang after a long hiatus. They have reformed their original lineup and will be performing the first EP they ever released in full on the night. Underneath the technical riffs and beats are robot noises and subliminal sonic subtexts. Charging this attack are subtle but essential effects, that shift the pitch and cause sequenced delays, all of which enhances an already spectacularly grand sound. The flipside sound reveals a blossoming anthemic and ethereal 21st Century post rock outlook, that’s captured in the cascading themes, loops and eloquent guitar lines. Elohymn don't have to rely on big chords. Instead they can snap out quick multibeat passages, punctuated with millisecond pauses which lead into the next ascending or descent led theme. The trio create something of a conceptual set, with the backing tracks and consistent, connecting strands. The numbers of course become gigantic by the end, elevating the audience on something of a sonic mountain climb - with such altitude, comes the very best of views.

CAT CALLED DOG

https://www.facebook.com/CatCalledDog

Cat Called Dog (from Skelmersdale) are another act who've been away from the live scene for a number of years. But they are coming out to play this Xmas! There is a distinct fuzzy reality of stepping into Cat Called Dogs world; it's a soothing reassurance of natural blood-pumping, lug-hole piercing, raw-rock that grabs you by the curlies and demands attention.

THE CITIES

https://www.facebook.com/thecities

The Cities (from Preston) are a sonic rebellion clad in skinny jeans, echoing the untamed spirit of rock ‘n’ roll. With every strum, drum, and bass thump, they channel the raw energy of the legendary Joe Kanger. The Cities are not just a band; they’re a thunderous force, where the drums and bass form the unyielding backbone, driving the rhythm into the heart of the listener.

FIRSTNAMEFRANK

https://www.facebook.com/FirstnameFrank

A man, a piano & some great songs: that is FirstnameFrank!! The best opener in the business.

We will also have DJ HUDSON playing tunes and probably crafting some baboonery tomfoolery throughout the night.

DUBINSKI

The bonds that hold Dubinski in place are unbreakable. Four brothers who’ve literally been through everything together - from childhood through adolescence, success and grief – using music as the gel to hold them in place.

Brought up in rural Scotland - Glenlivet in Speyside, to be precise - but with deep roots in North Yorkshire, their songs could only come from a place of complete trust, shared adventure, and total abandon. And the musical result of this familial experience: it’s rock meets pop, delivered in a manner that’s uniquely theirs - high energy bangers interspersed with introspective repose, all delivered with electronic production in an organic setting. Dubinski are making 21st century anthems, and it’s time for the world to listen.

Taken as a whole, Dubinski’s debut album is a shattering, cathartic experience. It’s a record fueled by brotherhood and trust, by loss and the empowering impact of communal emotion. More than anything else, it’s a launching point, a marker of the sheer will that has dragged Dubinski from the Highlands of Scotland out into the bigger world. “I sometimes wonder what the hell we would be doing if we didn't have a band,” Eoin muses. “It’s the umbilical cord that keeps us all together.”

REVIVALRY

Revivalry are an indie rock band with members from Louth and Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, UK. They burst onto the local scene in 2019 with their original track “Bullet.

The band cite the main influencers for their own music as Arctic Monkeys as well as Welsh Indie Rockers, Catfish and the Bottlemen.

CADAVER BEACH

Cadaver Beach are a four-piece Alternative-Rock band from Preston. Formed in 2022 the band are quickly gaining a reputation for their energetic live performances and are starting to make waves on the North West music scene.

The band's lineup features four talented musicians who share a deep passion for creating music that resonates with their audience. The incredible soaring vocals and machine gun rhythm guitar playing from lead singer Freyja is complemented by the sonic mastery of lead guitarist Kian whose intricate guitar riffs and soulful solos add depth and intensity to the band's sound. Driving the rhythm section are the dynamic duo of bassist Taylor and drummer Becca. Taylor’s melodic basslines provide a solid foundation for the band's music, while Becca’s powerful and precise drumming sets the heartbeat of every song, infusing it with energy and momentum. The band draws inspiration from a diverse range of musical influences ranging from My Chemical Romance, Twenty One Pilots and Green Day, to Roger Waters and the Foo Fighters. Since their formation, Cadaver Beach has been performing on the local music circuit, captivating audiences with their electric live shows.

Tell your nan, tell your boss, tell your ex-wife’s cousin; Up The Meffs!

---

The Meffs have built up a reputation as purveyors of frantic punk rock and an absolute must-see live sensation.

Broken Britain Part 1 & 2, the Frank Turner produced EPs have attracted attention from music lovers and industry pundits alike.

What followed was The Libertines frontman, Peter Doherty, asking The Meffs to open for him as part of his Battered Songbook Tour, and The Meffs first UK headline tour which saw them playing to fans both old and new in sold out venues across England, Scotland and Wales.

One such fan happened to be Fat Mike from NOFX and, as a result, the Broken Britain records have been released on his new label, Bottles to the Ground, sister label to Fat Wreck Chords. Fat Mike invited The Meffs to join NOFX on three dates of their final ever world tour - Leeds UK, Hatfield UK, and SBAM Fest in Austria - which saw them play to their biggest crowds to date... Until Download 2023!

Taking to the Dogtooth Stage at Download's 20th anniversary to chants of "Up The Meffs, Up The Meffs", the band played to countless fans who sang, moshed, crowd-surfed, and kicked up dust with a huge circle pit, leading to rave reviews, with many naming The Meffs as one of the best bands of the whole festival.

What's next for The Meffs? More sell out shows. More music releases. More merch. And more fans.

The Clause are a four-piece from Birmingham who have been jamming together since childhood. Blending the swagger of the 60s, the rolling groove of the 80s and the riotous verve and attitude of the 90s are Pearce Macca (front man), Niall Fennell (drummer) Jonny Fyffe (bassist) and Liam Deakin (guitarist). The band effortlessly combines huge hooks with gritty verses, indie sensibilities and rhythm and blues groove and melodies, creating a totally unique sound.

The Clause have supported the likes of The Reytons, the Pigeon Detectives, DMAs, The Enemy and The Snuts as well as performing their own UK tours, not to mention rocking at the world-renowned Radio 1’s Big Weekend. With two singles already reaching No1 in the iTunes rock chart and just outside the Top 20 on the main chart, the band are destined for great things.

SUGARSTONE - If Ridley Scott made Blade Runner today, you can bet he’d hire Sugarstone to score his night club scenes. The cyberpunk, futurist sonic landscape created within the bands discography, and indeed reflected in the style of the band themselves, has landed them prominent support slots for Kid Kapichi, The Blinders, Witch Fever, VLURE, Calva Louise, CLT DRP, and Tokky Horror. With a slew of sold out headline gigs across the North West, Sugarstone are becoming a household name - for the quirky and questioning music fans of the cyberverse, and indeed our universe, alike.

On tour to celebrate the release of his new longplayer ‘Crystal Vision’ on his own Cambria Instruments imprint, which features collaborations with Clark and Wizard Apprentice, Nathan Fake brings us a live club show with the intention of “soundtracking the ideal rave” - featuring mind-bending visuals + live electronic wizardry on a deliberately restricted hardware setup.

This is music for music’s sake – recorded without angles, agendas and themes – so Fake was free to simply continue honing his craft and express himself non-literally. Aptly titled, there’s a clarity of execution and ambition, and a peak effectiveness to the record that just sounds right.

Continuing to set a personal bar higher and topping his own best, the mark of master craftsperson is everywhere, but that doesn’t mean it’s polished; There’s plenty of rawness evident, with spiky sonics keeping ears on high alert – full of endorphin-flooded rave energy.

Dave Haslam:

DJ and writer DAVE HASLAM DJ’d over 450 times at the legendary Hacienda in Manchester during the late 1980s and has since DJ’d worldwide (including shows in Peru, New York, Berlin, Barcelona, and Italy). He made his debut at the Hacienda on May 1st 1986. Ian Brown, Tim Burgess and the Chemical Brothers all later credited his eclectic Thursday night sets as an inspiration.

In 1990 he toured America with Mike Pickering, Graeme Park, and Paul Oakenfold. Since the early 1990s he has hosted a variety of successful club nights in Manchester, including ‘Yellow’ at the Boardwalk.

He’s also found time to write numerous books and contribute to countless radio and TV shows. His recent DJ highlights include a party for the designer Paul Smith during Paris Fashion Week; and sell-out shows at cult venues like the Golden Lion (Todmorden) and Night & Day (Manchester).

He describes his DJing philosophy as “playing the best records ever made one after the other”, mixing the old and the new and the classics and the undiscovered gems into a quality, eclectic, floor-filling selection.
